I don't think that's accurate.

ok, care to elaborate??

i am not saying there were never any bugs or glitches in any video games before online access.. only that the QA testing was better.

Video games were much simpler back in the heyday.

Pong, Mario, etc..... space invaders, etc..... just plop in a cartridge and have fun with no worries except for mom and dad telling us it's dinner time or bed time.

Since the invention of online, we all want perfection and the right to play the game as if you were watching it on TV.

"back in the heyday" doesn't have to mean back in the early eighties with pong, mario, and space invaders. One could reference sports games on sega genesis, playstation, super nes, etc. hell you can even bring PS2 into the equation as i don't remember any patches being available on that system. What you bought was what you got and you dealt with it until the next year.

so, you are saying you are ok with this?
As previously stated, I haven't seen a single hitch, freeze, or crash. Many haven't; so please don't paint with such a broad brush.

I'm not sure if QA was better, or if there is just more to test now. There is more hardware behind the scenes and software is asked to do much more.

Testers have much more to test now than ever before.

I'm not about to read all of these posts but I did of course read the original post. This patch sounds awesome. It can't be released soon enough.
