There has to be a way to do this as is. Even if you have to use the crappy browser on the system to download a patch and then run it. And for those without internet on the ps3 you should be able to DL the things put it on a USB drive and transer it.

I really do not believe it if they say it isn't possible when you are capable of DL stuff from the internet onto the machine. I am sure they can code something to patch the game from where it DLs to. Think outside the box, don't crawl in it and cry!

But it would not hurt for someone to answer our questions concerning Franchise freezing. I am tired of scrolling through threads looking for info and finding nothing but opinions, bickering, complaining and crap talking. I am not a gossip queen and I look to this site for useful information or positive feedback. It seems no matter what, the threads always get off topic. Now, I know it has been stated that FREEZING issues will be addressed in the 2nd patch, BUT there have been multiple kinds of FREEZING issues in the game. SO, I would like to see if I can get it clarified- Will the Franchise FREEZING issue be fixed? Like the post above, I am excited about the Progression being adjusted but it will only matter if you can play multiple seasons! Thank you in advance for your intelligent answers.

Anyone with some insight like to answer my question? Or am I going to have to continue to scroll through endless threads of people whining about what should be! I can recall the same whining and complaining on the EA boards back when the Madden series was debuting on the PS2. Every year, no matter what, people are unsatisfied with Madden. Every year, including Madden 2005- Ray Lewis cover (which in my opinion was Madden at its best) people complained on the forums. People say, every year, that they will not buy Madden again and EA this EA that. It's all B.S. because the majority of those people go cop it the very next year!!!!

Also, FYI, I didn't buy Madden on next gen until last year. I did not buy a Madden game in 2006 or 2007. I backed up my personal feelings and didn't disappoint myself. Last year's game was much improved on next-gen but the Franchise freeze was not cool. Oh well, I had fun playing it for what it was worth. This year, I admit I expected better and for the most part it is a fun game. My concern is Franchise being fixed, which brings me back to my original post and question. Once I know the answer, then I know what to expect and what I need to do to enjoy the game for what it is worth.

Live in reality folks, it is what it is! I have been playing football video games since Atari. From Tecmo Bowl, Super Tecmo Bowl, Madden on Sega Genesis, Joe Montana's football on the PC, Game Day on PS1, Madden on PS1 and PS2, NFL2K on Dreamcast......I liked all those games and had lots of fun playing them! I played them for what they were worth! Madden will get better as it always does in one area or another. Franchise, in my opinion, is the last thing they need to get straight on Next Gen. First, the freezing issues, the progression/regression system and then the minor details like Pro Bowl helmets and SUper Bowl details. Every other aspect in the game has gotten better!

The last little bit of insight I have for you long time Madden fans is, EA has gone after the demands of the younger generation. The younger generation does not know what life is like without a computer and internet access, us Tecmo Bowlers do. There is your marketing gap. EA has put more effort into ONLINE gameplay because the market is pointing toward the younger generation these days! Frankly, there is more demand for online/tournament style MAdden play than Franchise mode in 2008. Madden Challenge- head to head battling! That tournament and T.V. show does not advertise Franchise mode.

Do you see where I'm going with this? The demand has to be there, then they will focus on Franchise mode like they use to. Franchise mode use to be the #1 or #2 attraction when it came to why people buy and play Madden. It is not anymore. It is for me and it is for many, many other Madden die hards but not for the majority of younger gamers. For every person on these forums speaking their mind and voicing their concerns, there are many more who are playing the game online or against their buddies at home and could give a crap less about our venting or our feelings!

If you understand this, then maybe we can take a more positive approach towards getting a product we will be satisfied with. Those are my thoughts for what they are worth. Please- I would like to know if the patch will fix the Franchise freezing. Thank you.

You're new here, so just a tip.

Break up your text and make it easier to read. I'm willing to say that the reason no one is responding to your post is because it's one block of text.

I just hope I get a response for someone who feels me. I am not looking to get into a spat or debate with the cheeseballs on these forums. The constant griping and sniping that I have to scroll through on these threads to get info is tiresome.

Re: Two Weeks of Madden 09, and Official Patch News!

So the game released in Mid-August but I have to wait until Mid-September to actually get a decent experience? That's nice....

Why not just take a little more time to polish the game just in time for the start of the season instead of rushing it out for the preseason, have to patch it anyway, and then wait for Microsoft & Sony's approval? One of the developers made a thread about patch 1 and 2 a couple of days before release, so I'm pretty sure they were aware of the issues.

Yeah, I've only started seeing it this year. Probably because EA developers are so nice to be posting on these boards... Anyways, let the *** kissing continue...
