Why does it take a minimum of 1 month to patch? Have programmers come in on the weekends. When we have an issue with code at work our programmers will often stay til 7 pm on Saturday nights.

Not to mention that a few of these bugs were known about before the game even released...

I would love that too, but we aren't living in a perfect world.

I can't recall the last sports game that I've bought and played that there wasn't a patch for.

Madden, NCAA, NBA2k, College Hoops, MLB2k etc......

We have a few choices here, either play it as is until the patch comes out, shelf it until the patch comes out or just get rid of the game.
All of this back and forth is getting people no where but frustrated. Everyone has there point of view and going back and forth is not going to change anything.

Last year the patch came in December and everyone was as happy as a lark after the patch. This year it will come three months sooner while the college season still is in full swing.
Well obviously not 'everyone'. I sold my copy in August. I did have an alternative new shiny game last year though

My guess would be that given that it usually takes 2 weeks for the patch to get thru all the certification processing, and the time it takes to identify the bugs, patch the bugs, test the patch, I would say that equates to about a months worth of work.

Again though, I would add this.

They KNEW that the following issues were BIG problems with the game on June 1, and I know that they knew because I told several lead gameplay developers personally.

- Kickoff returns/punt returns
- Zones being messed up
- Faulty Pass Rush
- CPU never throwing deep
- Bad man coverage on HBs
- Stafe catching

They knew they were going to release a patch that would address gameplay issues post-release (they told me this as well), and they very easily could have been working on fixing those issues in the month and a half prior to the game even being released.

Adam, Can you comment on this? Not so much if you knew about this or were told this, but if these issues are being fixed or patched at all? I believe that two or three are (kickofff/punts, and zones), but i have not heard anything on pass rush (huge) and the man coverage on LB.

Any and all info you have, again, is appreciated. Plus, that list someone was supposed to send you last night. You said the patch would cover other things and the list we had was just gameplay. Does that mean the list we have is ALL of the gameplay stuff, or part of it?

Keep us in the loop por favor

Point taken.
