Hester should not be a 81 as a receiver, and also Calvin Johnson is definitely too high with a 92. I know he's got a lot of potential, but what did he really do last year that warrants an increase in ratings. He should have stayed an 87.

They just simply do not give him the ball, when they do he makes incredible things happen, but John Fox and his staff don't seem to understand that giving the ball to your best player will actually help your team win. I'd rather gouge my eyes out than watch the Panther's offense try to make a first down.
Agreed, what Smith has done the last couple of years there is nothing short of amazing. They should be fun to watch this year.

Burleson only gets an 80 when he was probably the most consistent weapon for Seattle last year. The list could go on and on.
Of his two season in the league, which was Colston's good season and which was his bad?

I'll take Engrim over Burleson as far as being more consistent for Seattle last year.

Just to throw in my 2 cents on the matter, Steve Smith is well deserving of his rating. I'm by no means a Panthers fan, but the little guy is pocket dynamite. He fast, explosive, agile, and very sure handed. Not to mention he has an astounding "don't give up" mentality once he has the ball. Also he's got to be one of the strongest receivers in the league. The only receiver that I'd call stronger is T.O., and even that isn't by a huge margin.

Factor in the fact that Steve Smith's QB is crap compared to (as you compared) Reggie Wayne's, and you outta see that Steve Smith is well deserving of his rating. For that matter Steve Smith's QB is crap compared to almost all of the QB's that throw to the other comparatively closely rated WRs.

T.O. has Romo.
Ocho has Palmer.
Moss has Brady.
Wayne has Manning.

Smith has... Delhomme. While not the worst QB, he's not the best either, and isn't even worth comparing to the 4 I just mentioned. At best he's slightly above average.

& by the way Berrian is ranked as he should be he's shouldn't be on the "hosed" list. he's overrated.
I agree... Bernard Berrian is just a faster receiver....he's way overrated. Kevin Curtis was pretty solid for the Eagles last year and definitely deserves a higher rating.

Greg Jennings is my man...Favorite player on the Packers right now...but even I find it crazy and insane to have him at a 93.

lol...didn't Ian (or somebody from the Madden crew) say that the overall rating wasn't even a factor in how good the player plays? It's the "sub" ratings that are important (though I'm sure we can all find plenty we don't agree with there, as well). These lists are fun and interesting, but nothing to get too worked up about, IMO.

I think certain ratings push the overall up more than others, which may be why some guys end up over/under rated in people eyes. Hester would probably be a good example of this as the ratings needed to shape his dynamic return abilities (speed, agility, elusiveness, etc) would boost his overall significantly.
