Alex Smith's ability shouldn't factor into Isaac Bruce's rating. I can't really disagree with most of it.

I agree that players in Madden tend to receive too high a ranking. Takes some of the challenge of really trying to bring players along and improve them in certain areas when they're already scored a 95. Even drafted players get higher marks than they should IMO.
I thought 2K5 did a pretty decent job of keeping the player ratings a bit more realistic in that there were not so many highly ranked players. They didn't have it perfect, but I thought it was more spread out to point out the various talent levels in the NFL.

I'll just be happy if non-speed and smaller receivers who are productive in the real NFL can be productive in Madden.

I agree with the person who said the ratings are too high and that Madden could make stricter ratings like NBA Live or other games, but then again Madden has always rated the way it does and changing would be asking for an overhaul.

These lists could be a lot longer on both ends of the spectrum. I agree with Santonio getting hosed. He is a big play threat. I think Houshmanzedah could be on that list, he is one of the better run after the catch receivers in the game. Smith's production took a hit last year and I don't think he should have a 98. How can he get a 98 and Chad Johnson get a 97 when Chad Johnson has had better stats the last 3 or 4 years, plus he beat Steve Smith head to head in the WR's challenge last year? Galloway definitely got hosed after the last 2 or 3 seasons he has had. Maybe it is an Ohio State thing.LOL. This list could go on and on.

I would like to see QB's next or LB's.

Stallworth only got an 85, Calvin Johnson didn't live up to the hype last year like Adrian Peterson, but he got a 92? Derrick Mason only got a 87 when he has countlessly had 1,000 yard seasons and been a very good receiver. Colston had one good season and one bad season and he gets a 94? Burleson only gets an 80 when he was probably the most consistent weapon for Seattle last year. The list could go on and on.

Amen to that. Players that can get separation from defenders or can read a zone well do not have to be super fast or 7 feet tall.

I think Walter Payton would be the closest to 100. He could run better than anyone else, he could catch better than most receivers, and he could throw better than the current Bears QB's.

But he's only available with the HOF feature.
