I don't really know how to describe it, but this is the only sports franchise (aside from mlb 2k series) that still doesn't 'feel' next gen. Pop in NHL 08 for ps2 vs ps3, the difference is incredible. MLB 08 vs any other baseball game, nothing like it. Madden, NBA series, everything else, clearly has a superior next gen version. But for this series, I actually opted to play my 07 ps2 version over my 08 ps3 version. The graphics honestly don't even look that much worse, and the gameplay is a lot better. NCAA 09, so far, seems just like a slightly tweaked 08, with more injuries (i had 6 in my first game) and more dropped passes. The atmosphere is still incredibly lacking, and honestly, college atmosphere is really the only reason to get NCAA over Madden. I'd be more than happy if NCAA was allowed to just take the madden code, put in the college teams and stadiums, and work from there.

Wow. You actually thought Madden felt like "next-gen"? And NBA Live? This year looks that statement will come true for Madden, but the previous 3 years have been lackluster IMO. What was so great about Madden 08 on 360 or PS3 vs. PS2/XBox? I thought it was average at best.

However, I was just like you with NCAA '08. The turnover festival made me trade it in and buy it for the old XBox. I think NCAA '09 is much better (so far) and it sounds like the retail version will be better than what we have seen over the past 24 hours with the demo.

sad truth is all of the things we are asking for as far as presentation, d-line play, and a real football gameplay without 10 turnovers a game were created years ago with NFL 2k5. OMT maybe you can tell me why you guys are so far behind in those categories?

I am not going to pick this one a part this year - Bottom line for me, suprisingly enuff - is to skip NCAA 09 this year and wait for Madden 09. It seems for the first time in a long time, Madden has alot more going for it than NCAA does this year 'round. I suppose next year will be the year for NCAA. It should get all of the bastardized features from Madden this year and a few others. All I want is a good game of football at this point, don't care if it's NCAA or NFL at this point or not. Just my sole opinion.

Online dynasty is reason enough for me...
Maddens online season this year just doesnt quite add up to the dynasty

Somebody has been lurking for 3 years....

I agree with you. If you get a good group of guys, on-line dynasty should be a blast for NCAA.

Agreed with your entire post, and situation.

I really really want to buy this years games, BOTH of them, but I've decided to hold off on NCAA for at least a week after release, and hope that some of you guys here at OS will give me some feedback about the CPU Turnover issue. You guys saved me some $$$ last year, which was both good and bad.. Good, because, well, the games were two of the worst games I have ever played.. Bad, because, I went an entire year without a football title. Now, I'm buying Madden for sure, even though Madden is my biggest concern, when it comes to the turn over issue. Because I have to have at least one game this time around.

I'm hoping for all good feedback, and the opportunity to rush right out and pick up the game... but I expect to see threads, and the slider forum fill up once again with people trying to find decent CPU game play.

Wasting $60 is better than wasting $120, though.
