So a follow-up: what exactly is wrong with the pit stops and is it being fixed? Unless I missed it, I didn't see a pit stop fix listed in the details for the upcoming patch.

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions

Here's the strangest example:

At Martinsville, cars in pit road were TURNING AROUND in pit road and exiting out the wrong way. Then turning straight through the barrels and into the track in T3, creating a comical pile up as other cars on track plowed into them.

But at most tracks, the AI are absolutely horrid at getting on and off pit road--going the wrong way, killing each other as they jump from the outside lane down into the pit lane in heavy traffic, etc.

Or the fact that a lot of people claim that the pit stops for the player occur in "slow mo" while the other cars all fly by at normal speed, so they lose 10 seconds per stop. I haven't personally seen that or really think it's true, as I managed some stops right along with other cars, but I don't really ignore anything people report with this game anymore.

Bottom line, the AI behavior is downright fruity at most tracks. You may get 1 or 2 pit stops without a yellow flying due to the AI cars doing idiotic things, but you'll get another 10 or 12 completely hosed.

Additionally, if you enter unsafely or too fast, it'll just drive you through the pits at pit road speed and won't let you make a pit stop.

Well this makes sense because it is impossible to speed exiting so the pass through rule wouldn't be applicable but if you speed entering they can apply the rule...but when you really think about it they will more than likely add in the NASCAR officials and hold you in the pits next year's release. But the pass-thru is by far the biggest punishment in the game because you lose sooooo much time.

Give the License to Codemasters, please!

This is ridiculous. 3 months for a freakin' patch? NASCAR -- please do us all a favor and license the rights to make this game to Codemasters next year. It's becoming obvious that Eutechnyx doesn't have the resources to support this game.

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions

I'm afraid I have to agree. I've been a big supporter of the devs because of the way they've kept us informed, but this is just getting stupid now. I've been able to keep playing the game, like others, just doing short races without pitstops. Doing this the game is FAR from unplayable and really good fun sometimes, but we are missing out on a HUGE part of NASCAR and even my patience is wearing thin.
I think the mistake the devs have made is to keep giving provisional dates for the patch/dlc and then saying "soon" when those dates pass. It's all very damaging for the 2012, which I would think should be pushed way back into next year. Maybe even skip a year and get it right.

I am starting to think at this point they have worked so long on the patch that they must be way behind on the development of next years games. So I wouldn't be shocked if they just skipped next years game.
