Fellaini is still out though right? That's a huge advantage for us if they don't have him.

Everton still tough, but the way we're playing right now we can beat anyone. I still think we need some shoring up in January though

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***

Just read that Falcao says he isn't going anywhere, kind of disappointing.

I'm honestly still sort of hoping Oscar makes good on his promise to talk Neymar into coming over.

In the meantime though I think Shurrle is probably our best fit

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***

I never saw Falcao as a possibility for January given that Atletico are doing well in La Liga. I also read that Neymar already has an agreement in place to join Barcelona although I have yet to hear that confirmed.

Schurrie would be solid as well. I think how we proceed in January has a lot to do with how Torres fares. If he can score against good teams the way he has scored against the lesser lights, I'd wait a little longer. If he stays the same old Torres, then Roman has to get someone more consistent in front of goal.

I still think we will make a move for Fellaini or at least I hope so. At 25, his skill set is what we need.

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***

Definitely agree on Fellaini

Neymar is more of a pipedream I suppose. I would just love to see him go to the EPL and see what he can do in such a physical game. His diving is already pretty bad, if he goes to La Liga it's just going to get worse. Imo Liga has eclipsed all other leagues in the flopping category as of late, I feel like I am watching ballet.

Would love to see what a player of his skill is capable of when he's not diving and is maybe forced to bulk up a bit and play more physically.

Back on topic, I know we've been monitoring both Reus and Schurrle for a while. One of them even said, during summer I believe, that "everybody in the Bundesliga would love to play for Chelsea". Obviously Reus is out of the question but Schurrle would fit really well.

Good lord, can you imagine our already stacked midfield with Fellaini and a striker consistently scoring? I honestly think we are just a few players from being virtually unstoppable.

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***

We pulled that one out in no parts thanks to Torres. Twice he had chances to score and flubbed both. The lovely chip from Luiz which he couldn't even control and the chance late with Oscar & Moses on the 3-on-1 counter where he didn't bend his run and allowed the defender to close down on him. Despite his recent scoring increase under Rafa he's still too inconsistent for the elite club we want to be.

Luiz was a little shaky this game at CDM. He allowed Pinnear to roll him leading to the first game but for some reason I still like him in that role, more so than Mikel because of his playmaking ability and better passing range.

Home to QPR on the 2nd, and then 2 cup matches vs Southampton and Swansea. Hopefully we'll get to see some squad rotation and see what guys like Marin and Piazon can do.

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***

I like Luiz in the role too, I think he could actually be molded into a decent CDM. I've always felt Mikel is a bit overrated.

I'm still confused about Lukaku though. Why did we even loan him out? We were already short on strikers and he had a really good pre-season I thought. I understand he is not a finished product but if he can score that many goals with West Brom, I have to imagine he could score way more with our midfield behind him. Imo we should just recall him from his loan.

Also, I can't understand why they are letting Lampard walk, it's not like we need the money.

I want Frank Lampard signed before Wednesdays game, letting him go is the dumbest thing that could happen
