About that time.

Really pumped for hockey season to start this year, pro and college.

The Gophers return pretty much every key cog from last year. Championship or bust, because we're going to lose a lot of guys after this season.

Can't wait to see Werenski in action for Michigan.

Woo! Season underway!

Gophers exhibition against Random Canadian College X on Saturday night seems to have went well. I was at a wedding, so I didn't go, but I heard from some people there that the team looked pretty good. Some rust to shake off.

Apparently Swedish enigma Leon Bristedt looked very good. I'm interested to see how he fits on the team. Early indications are that he could be a top 6 guy this year.

As always, a couple surprising exhibition results. Miami lost to the USA U18 squad, 3-0.

Re: 2014-2015 NCAA hockey thread

I think the B1G will finish:

1. Minnesota
2. Michigan
3. Wisconsin
4. Michigan St.
5. Ohio St.
6. Penn St.

In Mike Reilly's freshman year, I said he'd have a Jordan Leopold Hobey type season if he stayed for his junior year. Hopefully that prediction is correct! Minnesota's D core should be easily the best in the nation.

I think Michigan will have a solid year and make it back to the tournament. They return a decent core, including their two top scorers. I'll be very interested to watch Zach Werenski this year.

Wisconsin looks like they might be in for a down year. They lost a TON. But they brought in some nice freshman. I think they'll be rather mediocre this year.

Michigan St. and Ohio St. will be pretty blah this year.

Penn State was the doormat last year, obviously. But I think they will compete a lot faster than some others. They return damn near their entire team, so I wouldn't be surprised if they sneak up the standings to 5th.

Conference realignment killed my enthusiasm, and it hasn't really come back yet. I still go to the Saturday home games, but don't follow the rest of the country nearly as closely as I used to.
