2011 Winter Classic

TSN's Bob McKenzie reports it's Caps/Pens at Heinz Field on January 1, 2011. Says it will be officially announced tomorrow.

Makes sense.

Can't fail with the Ovie/Crosby outdoor combo.

Would've preferred to see DC get a chance to host, but whatever.

Good game, solid selection for a showcase game.

I think counting on D.C. to be cold enough for a hockey game (this past winter notwithstanding) is always dicey. Heinz should be a nice venue for what's turning out to be one of the better rivalry games in hockey.

There's also going to be a second outdoor game next season. It's supposedly Montreal/Calgary at McMahon Stadium in February.

Liking the Washington/Pittsburgh matchup. That game is gonna get massive views in the States.

Nice... Now it's time to get some tickets. Can't be any colder than the Steelers/Ravens AFC Championship Game. Incredibly fun game to be at, but ridiculously cold.

Re: 2011 Winter Classic

sweet, these are included for us in our season ticket package. 29 bucks to see a winter classic!!

i hate to see the prices when they are available to buy and then even on the street.

It's times like this that I love to have relatives with Pens season tickets. I'll be at Heinz for this. Excited to see the one meaningful game of the regular season for the Caps.
