Malcolm Kelly and Devin Thomas--is this their year to shine?

Both receivers will get to train under new Redskins receiver coach Keenan McCardell who was a pretty solid receiver for the J'ville Jaguars plus they will be adapting to Shanahan's new system. Do you think they will finally live up to their potential? (about time for TE Fred Davis to shine too) Seems like to me, year 3 is a make or break year for alot of wideouts in the NFL.

Did you miss last year?

Fred Davis averaged about 50 yards a game over the last 10 games last year which is more than adequate for a second round tight end.

As for Kelly and Thomas, I doubt they put up 1,000 yards, but I expect they'll become decent second and third receivers.

With Cooley, Davis, and Moss I don't think there's a ton of catches available for them. I see that threesome getting about 1,800-2,000 yards, and Kelly and Thomas getting 1,000-1,500.

They'll have a great year if Santa Moss shares his Human Growth Hormones Breakfast Cereal with them.

History shows that 3rd year is when receivers finally "Get It" with playing in the NFL. Being a Giants fan I hope they don't "get it", because I do not want to face them twice a year for season to come. With that being said I do not think Devin Thomas will ever be a good receiver, I didn't like him coming out of college and still do not like him now.

Think they'll have a good year, Shanny has a way with WR..Shanny got Eddie Royal to be a beast for a season, after he left he's nothing...So hopefully Thomas and Kelly can do something..knowing if they work Mcnabb will give them the ball.

Having McNabb throwing and Shanahan coaching will help these guys out a lot. If they don't get it this year better start making room for some more WR's next year.

I didnt catch a whole lot of Redskins games, Cebby. You live in their local area so of course you would see more than I. I saw highlight film of the Skins, though, but didnt see much of my man Fred Davis.

I dont think Thomas and Kelly will put up 1,000 yards receiving but they could be a factor in the Skins offense. I loved Malcolm Kelly when he was at Okla. and have looked forward to seeing him shine. Moss is getting old (isnt he like 32,now?) so these two young receivers might get lots of catches, unless Mcnabb decides to make Cooley his main target like Campbell did.

At best I see Kelly being a #2 type WR but right now he is probably a #3.
