Could LeBron James compete in the NFL?

If so, at what position(s)?

Just curious what people think, I had a discussion about this with my step dad. He thinks LeBron would dominate. I'm not so sure about dominate but he could compete at some positions.

Re: Could LeBron James compete in the NFL?

Absolutely not

I know that he was an all state football player in high school, but in any high school sport physically dominant players will excel.

By the time you get to the professional leagues everyone is a top physical specimen. The difference is that in the pros, you have to be great at the sport, not just athletic.

There are thousands of major college football prospects who dominated high school based on size, speed, and strength who did nothing in college and hundreds who were good to great in college who did nothing in the pros.

Yes, Antonio Gates managed to make it to the NFL, but he played two more years of football in high school and was I believe three or four years removed from playing football. Lebron's highest coaching was one year of varsity football 10 years ago.

Are you asking because he can't win the big one in the NBA?

Re: Could LeBron James compete in the NFL?

Absolutely.

You have to think about this in logical terms....what DB could cover him? The guy is 6'8 with tremendous footwork and athletic ability. You would only have to teach him how to run a skinny post and fade.

Re: Could LeBron James compete in the NFL?

I think he could compete as a WR/TE but I don't think he would be dominate.
