Question Who's the better PF? Kevin Love or Blake Griffin?

I think these two are bound to do big things in the league. They both were 20-10 guys last year that were named all-stars for the first time.

If I had to choose one of these guys to be my power forward, I would go with Kevin Love. He can score a variety of ways, he's the best rebounder in the league. He's slimmed down a bit and looks more agile this year.

I'm sure the popular vote is going to be Griffin (and with good reason). The dude's a beast, but he seems extremely limited offensively IMO.

What do you think?

I would take Love, hes more versatile an is top rebounder. I like his approach to the game and seems like a great team player also. You really can't go wrong with either guy.

Kevin Love, I think Love has been playing lights out and is starting to develop his offensive game. I don't see him improving all that much anymore, while Blake still has plenty of room to grow.

Though neither is a great defender Blake has more potential on that side with his athleticism so I'm going with him.

Love is the better shooter obviously, but Blake is an equally better finisher and should develop a good midrange game in time.

Blake is a better ball handler and passer.

I just think Love is more of a "finished" product and Griffin has a much higher ceiling while being at roughly the same level currently.

Re: Who's the better PF? Kevin Love or Blake Griffin?

Difficult call at this point. Right now Love is a compiler on a terrible team. He obviously has been impressive but I want to see him against quality teams in tough playoff series. Love's rebounding numbers are partially inflated due to his suspect FG% for a big (though he was better last year) and getting his own misses. It's good that his outside game is developing because he's never going to be a great finisher in the paint.

Blake will shortly go down the Amare career path from the fan's point of view. He's a better rebounder but soon enough the initial "wow" factor will wear off and people will start focusing on the negatives of his game, namely his non-existent defense.

Griffin's ceiling is obviously much higher seeing as he's one of the best athletes in the NBA. His footwork has shown signs but he still has quite a bit of development to do offensively.

Right now I'd say Love is a better player but I don't expect it to stay that way for long.

Right now if I needed to pick one of those guys to play PF for my squad in the Finals I'd take Love.

Reminds me alot of the Durant vs. Melo debate last year.

No question Love. ehh, you going to knock a guy for grabbing his own offensive boards? That's one of the hardest boards to get, you have to be a quick jumper/reactor to do so. I know it's early in the season, but I don't think there's much of a comparison. In 3-4 years, maybe this discussion will be a valid one, but I just don't see much of a debate here. Love is a more versatile scorer, better FT shooter (not a liability in crunch time) a better rebounder, a deep threat. He's not as athletic, that's about the only knock.
