As much as I agree here with how it goes, LeBron is the best player but not on the best team RIGHT NOW.

Going back in history over the past 5, 6, 7 years...they always seemed to choose based on team record and the best player from that team.

That said, it's the San Antonio Spurs so I guess we can all sit here and act like they aren't just magically changing the way they want to vote all of a sudden.

It's not a surprise at all, but if they decide Parker doesn't deserve it although he has fit the criteria all of the other MVP's did then you know something is wrong, blatantly. Of course we have to wait the season out to see how this all works though. I was just making a point about what Barkley pointed out last night.

Re: When it comes to being the best pg in the league, why is Tony Parker ignored

Last year he was on the 4th overall seed.

When he was on the top-seeded teams, are you saying he won because he was on the best team, as opposed to being the league-wide best player having the best seasons?

The last few non-LeBron MVPs on number one overall seeds were Rose 2011, Dirk 2007, and Nash 2005. None of those, except maybe Dirk in 2007 (admittedly don't remember that year too well, fell out of the loop) were the slam dunks LeBron's last few we're.

Rose, Howard and LeBron were all solid choices in 2011. And there was a big push for Shaq against Nash.

It seems the best player/best season designation has been the go-to reasoning unless there isn't a definitive best player. Then the best player/best team thing would be the deciding factor.

It's hard to break down because the last five winners, aside from Rosé, were the consensus best players in the league. It just so happens 3 of those were the same person, who twice happened to play for the best team. Who were the best team simply because he played for them.

I presented this pretty terribly but I think my points are clear enough.

I still fail to see how Tony Parker is getting ignored all the time like people claim when he's constantly mentioned among the best PGs in the league every year.

This argument pops up every year on here, especially once the playoffs start and I never get it.

Miami I don't believe had the best record last season.. I see no reason for LeBron not to win MVP again as long as the Heat remain at the top of the east

The criteria has always been a joke. LeBron has deserved to win every year for a while now....
