Re: 4/23 - 5/6 Game Discussion Thread

A little standings observations in the early goings.

AL Central so far looks to be weakest division with only two teams at or above .500 and two teams below .300

NL Central and AL West the most competitive and toughest so far. Both with 4 teams at or above .500

AL East is clear cut feast or famine.

NL East is close enough for everyone not in Miami to be positive.

NL West is a nice bell curve. Two above, one at, and two below .500

Phillies being my biggest surprise team so far. They've got talent incoming but at this rate they are a year ahead of projections.

Re: 4/23 - 5/6 Game Discussion Thread

Excited to see my Yanks on ESPN tonight. I hope Torres gets a hit/has a good game. Tanaka needs to get it going, too.

Also, via ESPN:

"If 23-year-old Miguel Andújar has an extra-base hit in his next game, he'll be entering some rarified Yankees air. He's had an extra-base hit now in six straight games. According to Elias, the only Yankees with longer such streaks before their 24th birthdays were Mickey Mantle (seven games in May 1955) and Joe DiMaggio (seven in June 1937). Andújar will turn 24 next March."

Nice crowd of 32 for the Braves @ Reds.

Fun stat: Didi Gregorius leads the AL in slugging percentage.

Good AB from Stanton is followed by a 2-run double from Sanchez.

Andujar HR on the first pitch he sees! Wow!

At least the Braves bullpen is consistent. Keep walking them...

Fun fact. Jaime Barria threw more strikes to 1 batter than Sam Freeman has thrown in 21 pitches to 5 batters.

Does it seem like Andujar has some amazing bat speed?
