Hot take on home run:

Because I'm such a big *** when it comes to what I believe are inaccurate home run estimations (and I've used far too much math, science, etc. to make it so), I was in a spat with others five years ago about this very home run, and laid claim that even if it hit the front porch of that house on a fly (which I don't believe it did), the farthest it could've traveled was 520 feet. A bomb is a bomb is a bomb, and 520 is of the most epic distances you will ever see a man hit a ball... but 540, it is not.

For me being the naysayer that I am, I have firm believe it might've only traveled somewhere between 460-480 feet. I don't fall for legend of what was said (like stupid things such as "Mantle's ball was still rising," and you really have to think long and hard about that claim before you repeat it). I only trust what my eyes see. I'll give you 520 if you want, though. 540 did not happen, otherwise it would've cleared said house property.

I honestly think Glenallen Hill's rooftop shot may have been hit father, which I peg at 490 feet at best.

So true......but to a 14 -year old (and younger) who could care less about the math and more about the legend that came from it!
