MLBTR is always the best place to get news. I can't stand anything ESPN.

I do like Freidman, not trashing him at all. The McCarthy signing I honestly think was horrible but thats just me. Anderson has to be the biggest thief in baseball because he constantly gets $10M 1 year deals and pitches 4 times a year.
All of our pitchers are ground ball pitchers that's why we got Kendrick and Rollins up the middle.

I like McCarthy. Once he was dealt to the Yankees he performed much getter due to the fact that the Yankees let him throw his cutter which the sdnakes never allowed him to do. Anderson is a good signing if he stays healthy. If not it's only $10 million spent. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we're made a run at James Shields or Max Scherzer if we can't get Cole Hamels.

I will say I am jealous of u guys getting Morrow. I really like him and wanted the Giants to sign him for cheap like u guys did. Obviously if we get Shield or Scherzer I'll be plenty happy but ya all these new front offices in the NL West are def trying to catch up quick!

ya and u guys are about to do sumthing trying to trade League by telling everyone u guys will pay 1/2. That bullpen is gonna be very matchup friendly i think. Gonna c if Maddingly has any hint of Bochy in him if thats the case

Re: 2014-15 Hot Stove League Thread

Blue Jays have reportedly signed 1B Daric Barton to a minor league deal.

Seems like an intriguing low risk/high reward type of thing but it's probably depth for the organization.

BTW about the Padres, I dunno what's behind all this aggression from them but i'm glad to see it. If you have an owner that wants to win and is willing to spend than SD is one of the nicest places you'd ever want to play in.

Ya, that's easily the best site out there to go for baseball rumors/news. Blue Jays GM even admitted he sometimes uses that site to see what's being reported.
