Thought OS would be interested in how the FTG franchise has evolved since the last major post about it here. As a refresher, FTG uses a board game inspired match engine where you take it in turns to act, and virtual dice rolls based on player attributes determine who succeeds. The base game can be bought for a bag of chips for the next 7-8 days (EDIT: this sale period has since ended, but as is often the case on Steam another chance should come up in the future);

There was a 2nd expansion pack that didn't get a mention on here in 2021 called Manager's Journey. I won't elaborate too much on it though as the bigger news this year is that a full blown sequel has been announced;

The new game will contain all of the features from Football Stars and Manager's Journey, plus national teams and tournaments, national cultures, and player loan mechanics. With this, almost everything that was originally lacking in the series compared to a typical football manager will now be in the game.
Modding the leagues isn't too difficult either, so a lack of licencing is easy to work around, and should remain so with the new game. Definitely one I recommend.
