Franchise Hockey Manager 2014 Review (PC/Mac)

Out of the Park Development’s Franchise Hockey Manager 2014 is like a highly touted rookie--it has a good pedigree, a lot of raw potential, and fills a need in the sports gaming “roster”.

Unfortunately, you don’t usually give big contracts to unproven rookies, and, for now, I can’t recommend this game at it’s current price.

Thanks for bringing more exposure to the text-sim world. I hope this signals more coverage in the future of these General Manager type games, as there are probably a lot of people out there who would get a lot of enjoyment from them if they were only given the chance.

I agree with tolstoy that reviewing text sims is great. I'm also glad I found this before buying. I love OOTP but would be happy with FHM from what you've reviewed.

I'd love to see an improved version of this game come to mobile devices as well. OOTP on iPhone was great, and I'd be twice as into it if it were a hockey sim.

Definitely with you on that. iOOTP was (and is) an amazing achievement in mobile gaming. I am (im)patiently waiting for iFHM!
