Axis Football 2016 Kickstarter

Hey folks!

Danny Jugan here. I first want to thank everyone for this support and feedback on Axis Football over the past few months. We were able to improve several aspects of the game and have huge plans to improve several areas that need some love! To that end, we've released a Kickstarter to help raise some funds for motion capture animations and graphical improvements. If you're at all interested in football gaming on the PC or just for better football options in-general, I'd like to encourage you to consider support the Kickstarter! If not, at least check it out and let a friend or two know!

As always, I am truly thankful for your support. Feel free to reach out to me anytime with questions or comments!

Happy gaming,

Re: Axis Football 2016 Kickstarter

First off, I love the idea behind it. I haven't really played 2015 much, not because I don't like the game play but it doesn't have many features (which seems like its going to be rectified in the 2016 version). Still, I wanted to contribute to further development of what I think is a game with a ton of potential.

I am liking the new interface and I noticed that there were different playbooks that could be assigned. How expansive are these playbooks going to be? What kinds of offenses? I love the air raid offense, and would like to be able to run it on your game. I like the philosophy of "get to modding everything!" that the game seems to have, which gives it a uniqueness to it, I just hope the offenses and defensive playbooks can also have that feeling of uniqueness.

Hope it all goes well!

Re: Axis Football 2016 Kickstarter

The Kickstarter didn't get funded, so it didn't go well. I'm not surprised though, the "sim community" loves to complain (and attack people trying to do something) but hates to actually back anything because it's waiting for a perfect golden goose football game to fall from heaven.

Axis wasn't great but an indie football game with no funding isn't going to be great, but considering that the guy still has produced the best indie football game to ever hit the market and that's no small feat. He clearly has a ton of talent and if funded properly he could do great things.

Funny thing is, arcade-focused football games get tons of money on Kickstarter. That says a lot about how weak and small the "sim community" is.

Even though the kick starter failed, we are still going full steam ahead with development of Axis Football 16.

We want your feedback in what you think we need to make the game better! Please check us out on twitter (@AxisFootball), our forums or just on here (I'll be monitoring these forums answering any questions).

Danny, that grass texture absolutely must be redone. Everything else is coming along well, but that grass just has to be changed.

Honestly think you guys should get together with a group of the hardcore guys here and work with them. They'll give you a ton of feedback. I could shoot some names your way if you need it.

I don't play console football or anything but I would be glad to do that much to help

Absolutely! That was something we really wanted to fix, in Axis Football 16 we're actually going to have multiple different field types (Grass, Turf, Baseball, etc). One of our most recent screenshot Wednesdays highlighted it.

Since I have less than five posts, I can't shoot you the link, but if you go to our twitter page, it should be the most recent photo posted.

We would love that! We fully realize Axis Football has a ways to go, but we see Axis Football 16 as a critical year. Since we're limited by our size/resources we need to build on each iteration (unlike some of our competitors that can add and remove features year to year). That means building a strong foundation (which is our goal with Axis 16) will only make future games better.

Please let me know about a list of names!

Re: Axis Football 2016 Kickstarter

Hey Danny, just wanted to chime in and say that I thoroughly enjoy Axis Football 15. IMO, if you add in a more in depth franchise mode (which I know you plan on doing) the game is going to have major replay ability. As long as the game is customizable you'll have a market for it. Looking forward to Axis 16, keep up the good work man
