Video Game Football on Baseball Diamond

As I watched the Raiders & Dolphins play the last few weeks on the baseball dirt path (in stadiums shared with baseball clubs), I seem to recall there were some video football games of the past that captured this. I am almost sure that Tecmo Bowl III had an option that allowed you to play over a baseball field.

But I can't recall if Madden or 2K (or Fever or other) ever had this. Did they???

Just wondering.

I know for sure Madden had it (back when they had progressive lighting).

PS2-era Madden had the baseball diamonds in the appropriate stadiums, I think (I'm pretty sure I recall Miami and Oakland specifically having them). Not positive, though.

I still have Madden '03 for Xbox, so I popped it in the other day..... and sure enough if you play in Miami early in the season in franchise mode, there is the dirt infield. Very nice touch.

Next gen madden can't even manage to do this. It would be a nice little touch.

Yup, and then it would change back to all grass in October.

Things we took for granted. This feature was also in Madden 99 on the PSX.

I have Madden 06-09 on Original XBOX and they all have them.
