NBA Playgrounds: A New Take on Street-Style Basketball

NBA Playgrounds
is a fine-tuned blend of arcade basketball and competitive play. It has a tendency to lean on the former, but the 2-on-2 matches can get awfully tense in the final moments of a game, especially in more difficult matches against the A.I.

The game strives to be a modern-day take on the NBA Jam formula, letting players leave realism and simulation at the door in favor of a faster pace. It doesn't live up to the aforementioned classic, but it's just fresh enough that it's able to chisel a spot for itself among the short list of arcade sports titles on the current generation of consoles.

Cause OS doesn't rate games anymore I will now do it for the. 4/10.

Pros- animations and graphic are nice
Neg - announcer lack any emotion and have a voice library you would expect a ps1 to contain.
- lay ups are the hardest shot in the game to make as shot timings seem random if you do anything but a jumper
-no way to play with you favourite team players without grinding
-online is less then consistent
- might as well not even try to grab a rebound.

Thank you, I was wondering if I should waste my money on this or not, wonder why 2k didn't make something similar

Re: NBA Playgrounds: A New Take on Street-Style Basketball

The card pack unlocks are cheap

Toooooo many repeated

I have about 70 more to unlock played they all tourneys etc

But the way this game dishes out xp at such a low rate it's atrocious

The game WILL get better but it's boring once you beat the tourneys
There isn't much fun in having tonplay 10 matches for a silver pack just to have that silver pack grant you one new player and repeat the others

Re: NBA Playgrounds: A New Take on Street-Style Basketball

Layups are so easy, i make 90% of them but the problem is differ from dunks but i was able to figure it out by thr 2nd tourney.

Its a 20 dollar game and for that its pretty good. I agree it needs more tournaments and the repeats are a pain. I bought it again on xbox to play friends in the future and went through the tourney only losing once to Dirk and Magic. What was nice is that i got a bunch of Legends that I wasn't able to get on the Switch.

Big issue is not being able to play friends, big drawback.

Oh wow aren't you guys (the comments) a little harsh?

I find it pretty fun and a good alternative to the more SIM 2K.
