Basketball Pro Management 2015

Is anyone aware of this game? I'm tempted to buy it as I am in the market for a new basketball text sim. I've been disappointed with the DDS series and Fast Break Pro Basketball 3 has been underwhelming (FBCB is my go to basketball sim at the moment) and I am still waiting for an update that was planned a year ago...

Anyways, The features in this game are too good to be true and I am sure this game will probably disappoint me as well.

Has anyone tried this out?

In Basketball Pro Management 2015 you will take control of your own basketball team! It's your job to take it to the top of the rankings by managing a wide variety of parameters including the composition of your starting five, training, transfers, objectives and, of course, finances!

Many tactical choices that affect each game are possible, with detail that will please the shrewdest of tacticians. You can even create your own game systems, and for the novice coaches, be able to let your playmaker decide on part of the tactics to be adopted, will also be at ease.

You can replay the games in 2D or in 3D to refine your strategy during and after the games. Thanks to the database editor, players are even allowed to custom their game and add new players.

If you do not know the rules or the basic tactics of Basketball, do not worry, the game includes a tutorial with all the basics of Basketball available at any time.

Now in its fourth year, Basketball Pro Management 2015 introduces numerous features and improvements. Among these upgrades, managers this year can look forward to more challenging and tactically-minded AI opponents, enhanced recruiting, and a refreshed league-satisfaction system.

In addition to rankings and budgets, an effective manager has to plan for the growth of individual players and the team's performance. Recruiting has been redesigned to offer significantly more depth through the addition of league-specific regulations, including leagues from North America, China, Turkey, and many more worldwide.

Running a successful team takes more than good coaching skills. Team-rank, performance against rivals, and a wide variety of other parameters all affect the support you receive from fans and owners, and in turn, the income from tickets and stadium shops. Manage your goals wisely. After all, the most competitive players don't come cheap.

Additional Features & Enhancements

Manage everything from recruitment to finances, and training to coaching.
43 playable leagues, including six women's leagues.
New: International competitions (e.g. Olympics, World Cup)
New: Six national competitions added (including China, Great Britain, Australia and Lebanon)
13,000+ players and 1,600+ teams, all customizable in the database editor.
Set training schedules to focus and guide player-growth.
Plan your tactics and change them on the fly during the game.
2D and new 3D game simulations.
Quote:
On the AI side, teams are now much more intelligent and are able to analyze their stats and weak positions, relative to the competitions in which they are included.
They will manage and do better recruitment knowing whether they should rather recruit stars players or substitutes.

On the User side, recruiting system gains depth with complete dissociation of the North American system.
For a game in North American League, recruitment will be only via trades / contracts to free players. The concepts of salary cap and luxury tax are fully implemented and recruitment could quickly become a challenging puzzle. To avoid ruining the team, player must learn to choose the right exception for each player to keep healthy finances with the best possible workforce. The amounts at which a player can sign depend on seniority in the league, his old contract etc. Each exception has its limits of use (some are only used once a year, others only if the player has more than 3 years of service etc.) but also its salary or time limits.
Concerning Europe, the recruiting system includes players with free / loans / transfers. You will have to take into account the budget of the team whose development and functioning has been completely redesigned to be modulated by the objectives of the team. Now according to the championship in which our team plays, your goals will be different. For each event, the team leaders will impose a minimum target that you’ll be able to revise upwards to expect a budget increase, but if it fails at the end of the season, leaders might not re-sign you.

In both North American and European leagues, satisfaction of leaders and supporters has been completely revised and now depend on a large number of parameters: the ranking of your team, targets but also results against your rival teams for example. The satisfaction of his supporters now will influence directly their frequentation in each of your matches and also the budget of the team thanks to the income from the ticket office or shops / refreshment.
Quote:
• 2015 will be the 4th edition of the game with a player base growing every year.
• 43 playable leagues (including 6 women leagues and North American College League)
• Some Major championships added this year for BPM 2015: Australia (men), China (men ), Turkey (women), Czech Republic (women)
• 3 European competitions inter clubs included
• More than 13,000 players
• More than 1600 teams
• Nearly 1,500 players have their career statistics filled
Sounds Like Football Manager for Basketball...

...But I doubt it's as good (bugs, stats, etc) the few reviews seems to point in that direction but the reviews lack any details so I take the comments with a grain of salt.

Re: Basketball Pro Management 2015

I would like to find a good basketball text sim game, preferable College hoops game over the pro game.

I had a few years back DDS college game and while it was OK the screens werent the easy to work with. Plus Im absolutely stupid when it comes to PC's anyway, but wit the disease I have along with my back problems which get enhanced by the disease I have makes concentration hard for console sports game any longer. Unfortunately Im not going to get any better and probably worse health wise, so Im seriously looking into Text sim sports game. Plus my favorite game to play is actually on PC, which is Farm Simulator, although they have started to make it for consoles, but its not very good on the consoles, so PC is really the only way to go.

I know OOTP baseball is the top of the line when it comes to text sims, and it dont sound like any basketball or football text sim games come even close to that of OOTP. Plus IM so sick of NBA2k and the BS lies from that company that I have had it with NBA2k so even if I was able to still play those games on the console, I would still be looking for a text sim game. Im very OCDabout stats, and it seems the only way to get realism now days is to go with text sim games, cause even Madden is a joke stats wise. MLBTS does a descent job on the stats side, but not nearly as in dept as a text sim like OOTP baseball.

I have look for Wolverine Studious to see if they have anything new out on college basketball but it looks like it still the same as what I had, so that dont excite me. Plus they werent overly helpful to me, and I need a lot of help when it comes to PC and its games sadly, lol.

Re: Basketball Pro Management 2015

Game looks interesting but being a game developed with worldwide basketball in mind, I wonder how in-depth it would actually be for the NBA, or North American leagues as they call them. If it captures the nuance of player and team chemistry, has GM AI that can adequately manage the salary cap (as well as spending AI for larger markets), and has coach AI that includes running sets for the best players (that adapts after every off-season), then I'd be extremely interested...

Just wondering how well it simulates the NBA and how in-depth it recreates the Association.

Try Fast Break College Basketball 2010. Its a great game, its really simple and easy on the eyes.

DDS' college game is great after you look past the problems but overall FBCB is a better put together game. I haven't tried the new DDS College game yet so keep that in mind.

I have to keep an eye on this one. I believe this is the 4th installment and the last version received some bad reviews which most of them were about the AI.

It does seem as if the AI was the main focus for this version. I just wish there were a demo or trial version.

This is the only useful review I've seen about it on steam. Seems honest.

Quote:
In one sentence, this is a good game for basketball fans.

From the 2014 version : The biggest defaults have been removed :
- The UI is now really nice and the new statistics pages are really good (ones with filters).
- No more loading times (I've selected 9championships while the game was advicing me to select only 5 and the game is really smooth).
- The online documentation isn't complete now but I found it really helpful in some cases (it helped me to understand how to make good trades for example).

Pros :
- Ability to create your own plays
- I'm not a big NBA Fan but I really like to play with a NBA team and manage the salary cap and exceptions
- Managing the arena and change every little detail is pretty cool (change the beers price for example)
- I really had the impression of having the ability to influence games with my tactics/substitutions.
- The ability to use "quick plays" in games is perfect (juste click on a player and say "take a 3pts shot on next possession"
- I like the scouting system, though it could be better with the ability to send a scout to observe a country/league instead of only individual players
- game's lifetime is huge
- Italian language has been review since last version (I play in Italian)

Cons :
- Games realism can be improved sometimes
- 3D a bit messy sometimes
- Players' tiredness in game and during trainings should be improved.

I'll update this review after playing more. I'm just waiting a real name patch to create a new game.

Re: Basketball Pro Management 2015

I wish was there was a demo or trial too. I didn't watch the launch trailer the first time and I'd love to have that small 3D court when watching my games.

Way too risky to jump in though given the terrible reviews of 2014.
