PYS 2011 - Training Tips (Pennant mode)

So I have my 4 slots tied up with two I picked and two recommended ones. So do I simply wait till I get an awakening message one day? Is there an advantage to not filling up the four slots (ie faster with <4 as coaches can work with them more)?

You definitely want to use all 4 available slots when training, there is no advantage to using less. As far as awakening, it will let u know when your player(s) have leveled up. All you can do until then is wait. Remember though, players gain more exp. points when they actually play so this will level them up much faster.

So the 4 get two bonus points. Does that include minor league games? Otherwise wouldn't you want all NPB players in those 4 slots?

First I am going to clear up some confusion on the wordings. There is no "awakening" in pennant mode, I know our site has the player progression labeled under "Awakening" but it's really a mistake we have yet to correct. It should just be called Player Progression.

Pielet, the 4 slots can only be used on minor leaguers, so major roster players cannot go on there. Once you get the required amount of experience, you will see a big arrow going up next to the player's experience letter grade in the post-game experience screen. That player will gain a small boost in attributes. You just need to keep an eye on the post-game experience screen because there are no special pop-ups or flashy messages that tell you when a player progresses.

So is awakening gone in 2011? I notice no awakening numbers in the player attributes screens.

Yeah, awakening is gone in pennant mode. you can still awaken guys for use in exhibition, and in grandprix mode, players will awaken. but as far as pennant mode is concerned, it now has its own unique player progression system that has no relationships to the awakening system.

Thanks again Muka. Your website is like an ultimate strategy guide!

When I look at my roster and hit the square to cycle through fatigue, etc there is a green number like 972. I think this is the training points and its counting down from 1000 or 500 for people. Can you confirm this? If not what is that for?

Yes you are correct, that number is the experience points required to reach the next level, and it counts down and you level up when it reaches zero.
