Pro Yayakuu Spirits 5 is probaly the most realistic game ever. They take their games to a whole other level over there.

Re: What Baseball Games Are Legendary?

Hardball III, Hardball 94, and Hardball 95 were YEARS ahead of their time. Likewise the Front Page Sports series were right up there with them.

I was never much of a Bases Loaded fan for some reason. RBI Baseball was always my prefered game of the two. RBI '93 or maybe '94 seems to stick out as the peak of the series for me, but that might just be because I moved on to Hardball after that.

Baseball Stars is a timeless classic, and I've often lamented the fact there hasn't been a game like it since Baseball Stars 2. I've also thought for some time that it was the type of game that would transfer very well to a sort of MMO sports RPG. With MLB: Dugout Heros fast approaching open beta, it seems like the baseball gods have finally answered my prayers.

Tony LaRussa Baseball and the original Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball were good for their time. I just don't seem to remember any baseball games between then and HH02/03 wowing me. But man oh man, High Heat was a great game. HH04 was kind of a step back, but with 2K not knowing how to make baseball games, and EA having the lefty glitch in 04, High Heat managed to still be a solid title.

I think MVP05 goes without saying, for reasons already mentioned numerous times. It's just a shame EA got robbed of the MLB licensing, because MVP:NCAA06 actually improved on the already solid hitting physics.

So if I were forced to make a top 5, it'd have to go something like this:

1. MVP05
2. Hardball series (III, 94, 95, 5)
3. Baseball Stars
4. FPS Baseball
5. High Heat 02-04

The bottom three could really be aranged in any order. Honorable mention to Ken Griffey Jr (SNES), Tony LaRussa Baseball, and RBI 93/94.
