Can anyone hit a homer without switching to "power swing"?

I don't think it's possible, we just crush the ball but fly out on contact swing if we hit it right on the button...so we practically have to choose when we want to try to hit a home run.

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!

I scored only 1 run on normal going agisnt wang with the Mets my 1st game.

My question is, what is the best seting to make the CPU batters a little more dangerous, but not unrealistic.

Throughout the game, I never felt like I was in danger of giving up a long ball.

I have both mine and the CPU batting options to Normal hitting(not lock on), and I play on All-Star difficulty(because I've played over 250 games in 2007). I felt that when I played on expert I was in danger of giving up the long ball, and I did. If I were you I would change the difficulty of the CPU batting to expert if you have set to normal. And if that feels too easy up it one more level.

Also, if you have trouble scoring runs you might want to be a little more patient and take more pitches, because when I get very impatient and I was lucky to score 1 or 2 runs, but if I'm patient I can score more runs. I'm not sure if that's your problem or not but just going by personal experience.

Did they have hard sinkers in the game last year? Wang has one this year and I know he didnt have one on the game last year to start with.

I think you'll get better as you go, I'll probably start on all star with normal(the batting setting not the difficulty setting) hitting and move up to Powerful difficulty if it gets too easy.
Hmmm...That could be it. I start the game on powerful difficulty and I tried putting the CPU pitching down to all-star and then to expert and still had trouble getting the long ball.

So does starting the game on normal difficulty and then changing all the CPU batting/baserunning/etc. to powerful make a difference or am I doing the same thing?

How does one load and transfer PS2 saves for this game? Is it possible to transfer rosters?
