Loss

I don't really know what to put here, or even if I'm going to create this post. I just kind of wanted an outlet.

I found out today that one of my very best friends since middle school is dead in an apparent murder-suicide. The police investigation is still ongoing, but that is the preliminary analysis.

A group of us have managed to maintain our tight nit friendship from high school (16 years), and we all met this afternoon to hear the news. The friend who found out before all of us texted us this morning with some ominous meet up to share some bad news. A hundred different things went through my mind of what could be so bad to have this ominous meeting, but not this. I didn't even notice that the now dead friend was not one of the people who responded to the group chat.

All of us were in shock. A couple of us had talked with him earlier in the week and he seemed fine, his marriage always seemed to be really positive, and just...it's hard to believe he's gone, and even harder to believe that he could do something like this.

Re: Loss

Hugs to you... I can't imagine the world of emotions you must be going through right now. I pray that you can be strong through all of this. Don't be afraid to get therapy if you feel you need it

Re: Loss

I'm so sorry that this happened. Don't hesitate to talk to a professional if you need to figure out how to process everything. Prayers to everyone involved.

Re: Loss

Thank you everyone for your words.

Definitely a difficult situation both for the loss as well as the shock of the actions that took place by someone I would have called a brother. It's going to be a long time before any of our group feels normal from this, but we will get there.
