Met this girl at the mall, got a question

I was with a friend at the mall and we had stopped into the Adidas store to look at shoes as I was going to get something if I saw anything I liked. Looked around, didn't see much, and as we were headed towards the front of the door, I saw the champions league ball on a stand and picked it up and started telling my friend about it, as I was doing this, the girl working there behind the counter started talking to me about it.

She told me she played with the ball before with a friend, so I walked over and asked some more soccer related stuff, how long she played, positions, etc. I joked around with her a bit as well. Told her I coach 8 and 9 year olds in soccer.

I spent probably about 10 mins talking to her in there. I asked how old she was, she's 22, I'm 25. When I looked at the front entrance my friend was gone so I told her I had to leave and I shook her hand, and she said, "I'm in here all the time, so stop in and chat with me."

What exactly is that implying? Typically, store employees will talk with you and just say, "Have a nice day/night". Not to come back and chat with them. And there's plenty of other people she can chat with in the mall, why me?

I'm just the average schmoe in terms of looks. I can hold a conversation very well and I know how to speak with people. She is above way average in terms of looks, a girl who I would never think of approaching.

I had asked a friend of mine and she said, "She implies that she likes you and wants you to come back and ask her out."

My own personal feeling about it is, she said that to see if I am interested by coming back.

Whats everyone else's take on it?

IMO, take it for what it is and go back and talk to her again. She may be interested but no way to know until you go back.


Some girls are overly nice and just like having male friends.

Honestly I think you might be reading too much into it. She works at a store, in a mall. That sounds like nothing but the typical standard retail talk.

But if you like her, go for it.

So go back to the mall and ask her out. Even if she says no, does it really matter? And if she says yes...

Yes, she is highly attractive. We were talking about sports at first, then she went on how she just moved back here, what she was doing, told her I was going out to get some dinner with a friend, she gave me some places to go try.

I'm def going to go back. Obviously I'm giving it till Saturday as I'm not gonna run back there and look desperate.

I don't know about retail talk, people were coming in the store and she wasn't even focusing on them, as she kept talking to me.

When I do go back, I'm not gonna stand in the mall outside the store looking in like a weirdo to see if she's there, I'm gonna go in and look at stuff, not go looking for her in there.

Either she or me will strike up a conversation and further into it, I'm gonna ask her what she's doing next week, if she'd like to have a bite out with me. It doesn't hurt to ask.

Overall, the vast majority of people I've asked about this, have said she may be interested in me by telling me to come back in.

I'll find out when I go back if she's working the day I go there, then I'd give an update on how it went.
