Brushing your teeth in the morning

Do you brush before breakfast, after, or both?

Re: Brushing your teeth in the morning

After breakfast...brushing before seems to defeat the purpose/be useless unless there is quite a bit of time between the time you get up and the time you eat breakfast.

I wake up, shower and then eat breakfast, so for me there is about 10 minutes between the time I wake up to the time I shove food in my mouth...then I brush my teeth and get ready for work.

Though there are special circumstances. If we are going out to breakfast on a weekend or going somewhere and have to eat breakfast on the go, then I will brush before as I have to communicate and interact with people. Since I then won't get a chance to brush afterwards, I'll grab a tooth pick and/or chew some gum.

Re: Brushing your teeth in the morning

I usually eat my daily "breakfast" at work, so before. But yeah, if I were at home and eating a normal breakfast shortly after I got up, it would definitely be after because I always cook with a bunch of onions/garlic hah.

Re: Brushing your teeth in the morning

For the most part I eat first.

However, if I'm at my parent's house I brush first because I sleep downstairs.

Regardless though, I always chew gum on the way to school or work, so my breath is always good (unlike TPain).

After.

Although sometimes on lazy days I will eat breakfast(or sometimes not), but then I won't brush my teeth until right before I eat lunch because I don't like having that morning mouth feel when I am eating lunch.
