If they got rid of fighting in hockey, that would open up pandora's box. You'd have guys constantly taking runs at top-tier players the whole game and whole year. You'd have some awful 4th liner going after a superstar player because there would be no repercussions.

That's like inserting Nazr Mohammed for the sole intention to injure LeBron James in the ECF, so the Bulls could move on.

Trust me, that'll never happen.

Or hockey players could not act like primitive *******s and not fight or intentionally try to injure like every other not baseball sport.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

The whole enforcers protecting their star players is BS. There's plenty of players who aren't stars who are willing to drop the gloves when their teammate has been cheapshot.

It's just so ingrained in the culture that will make it hard to get rid of. They are phasing out goons for the sake of goons, but it's just bringing to light the "pest", a guy who has some talent but plays on the edge occasionally going over. Just look up Brad Marchand. He's a decent hockey player, but all his cheap shots and embellishments make him a million times more unlikeable then any goon ever was.

The NHL has a discipline problem is a main problem. It also has a lot of old school people in charge, and fighting and respect meant a little more back then (though crazy things still happened back then too).

When a person not only come to a business meeting late, but they come dressed as though they going to the store and not an actual business meeting.

However neither if these things grind my gears, mainly because I rarely watch either sport. But if they did ban fighting in hockey I think every arguement against banning it would be inherently flawed.

It's beaning and there is no such thing as doing it to rookies just for the heck of it

It's clear you don't watch or understand it!

I guess you forgot when Cole Hamels welcomed Bryce Harper to the big leagues a couple of years ago.

It's not a common occurrence. If you want to make generalizations over one or a few occurrences be my guest
