Mobile Gaming -- A Worthy Pursuit for the Less-Sim Crowd

Madden is everywhere. Literally.

The game is on virtually every gaming device known to man. If you have an iPad or iPhone, you are probably enamored with the idea of being able to line up with your favorite team while waiting for a bus, in line for an espresso or lounging around with a few minutes to kill.

FIFA 12 is pretty amazing on the iPhone. I imagine it would be even better on the iPad. I got it for 99cents, which is basically stealing once u see the replayability this game has. Highly recommend picking this up. It's like having the console version in your pocket.

I honestly don't play any games on my mobile device. I think being able to control your fantasy leagues through a mobile device is much more appealing.

FIFA 12 and Fight Night are pretty good on the iPad imho.

Agree completely. I love my iPhone, but playing action or sports games just doesn't work for me on the iPhone. I just need a controller for those kind of games. Interestingly, though, the more-sim crowd can certainly be taken care of with the iPhone. Though Madden is no fun on an iPhone, iOOTP is terrific.

Re: Mobile Gaming -- A Worthy Pursuit for the Less-Sim Crowd

I bought an iPhone 4S just a few weeks ago, and so far I'm pretty impressed with the gaming.

I picked up FIFA 12 and NBA Jam for 99 cents each, which is really an amazing deal given the quality of the two games. As mentioned in the article, the simplicity of NBA Jam really lends itself nicely to a mobile device.

And while the same probably can't be said for FIFA, EA manages to pull off a near console-like experience with FIFA 12. The controls and gameplay are actually good enough to where I could actually get into a manager mode or something if I were to do any decent amount of traveling. And it's still worth it for just the occasional exhibition frinedly whenever I have some down time away from the console.

Those two games, along with GTA 3, have shown me that a hardcore-ish type of gaming experience is definitely possible on mobile devices, and is more than enough for someone like me who would never throw down for a handheld console.

iOOTP is great as well..

After playing GTA 3 on my iPad 2, I am now convinced serious games can be played on tablets and phones.
