I agree that the bottom line is that the games are what they are and not "what we wish they were." The sooner a person accepts this the better off they will be.

The only problem I really have is not that the games are not getting better fast enough, but that the games have taken 2 steps backwards, often missing features or messing up in areas where they excelled on the PS2/Xbox.

For example: I would have no complaints about the lack of custom soundtracks and ESPN presentation had it not been already done many years ago.

"unfortunately there is only so much they can do each year."
This is why I can wait 2 or 3 years before buying certain sports games.
