Out of the Park Baseball 18 Road to Release: Promotion and Relegation

The OOTP 18 Road to Release series keeps rolling down the tracks with John Comey’s look at a new feature, promotion and relegation, that has fans intrigued.

When it was announced that Out of the Park 18 would introduce the ability to automate promotion and relegation, I became excited. It was, to me, to many, a long time coming.

Just out of curiosity - are there any real-world baseball leagues that use a promotion/relegation system?

I know American baseball obviously doesn't because of organizational structure, but I'm not familiar with the leagues worldwide.

Interesting idea for a fantasy setting, at the very least (and I know OOTP is very big on that).

The weird thing is, the Baseball-Bundesliga didn't make it into OOTP.

Many other semi-pro leagues/volunteer leagues haven't either. It'd be cool to see, but also understandable why it's not there (yet).

I love OOTP, I really do but there are other things that could have been improved before adding Reg/Dereg and 3D stadiums.
Scouting and the amateur draft needs to be improved. If done right this could be a game in itself but now it's so bland and boring. Scouting is all over the place in this game. I hate to say it but OOTP needs to take some lessons from The Show when it comes to scouting. It doesn't have to be complex but make it interesting.
