Like what kind of cokamaymee description is that?

I love the concept but man come on are yall paranoid or something?
I'd like more info on what gameplay is actually like...I enjoy the videos, but don't really get a feel for how the game will actually play (shooting guns, etc)...if that's not awesome then all the generated stuff in the world won't make you want to come back.

I think that stuff's still being worked on, so hopefully they deliver

Re: No Man's Sky

Who are you fighting people or aliens?

What are you doing flying to planets?

Why should I just leave one planet to go to anther one besides an upgrade?

Is there anything to do in space besides go to other planets and shoot at spaceships?

Can i see my character and ship in 3rd person or am I constantly just looking out of a tunnel vision window like every other FPS game?

Can I customize my character or anything else from the beginning

I mean honestly, those are bottom floor basic... I could think of a ton more but I have no clue why the guy is acting scared to tell people what the game is about when he presented it at E3. Its weird.

Yeah, I think that's what one of the guys at IGN was getting at in one of the E3 videos I saw. He basically said "right now I'm not sure there's much of a 'game' there yet," more or less saying right now it's a cool tech demo of a really fun engine but as far as building a purpose or objective I think that's what still is uncertain.

I'd play the game just for the exploration element but I know there needs to be more there for the game to succeed and appeal to a lot of people

I can understand him not wanting to explain everything in an exploration game.

To me it reminds me of Minecraft in Space. Which makes me want to pre-order.

I can understand if theyre barely at the programmed stage but the concept, idea in general and narrative can't be a mystery to everybody including the devs right?

Doesn't have to explain everything, but he didn't explain anything at all. Nobody knows what the heck the game is at all.

No Man's Sky

Haven't read every link but my question after reading everyone's posts is are you as a player basically screwed if you don't get this day 1? If I were to get it 6 months after it came out, would it be pointless for me as an explorer because everything will have been discovered by then? I don't understand how that works. Anymore, if I'm buying games, it's not the year-to-year EA Sports versions. They are ones that can last a while and be picked up again at a later date where, sans multi-player, you can have a similar experience as someone did on day 1 of its release. I'm worried this won't be that way.

By the way, from the sounds of it, as much as I loved the Mass Effect series, this game sounds like exactly what I wished for from ME1 based on the impression I got prior to its release. I've always wanted a space exploration game like they are describing. Star Control 3 provided some of that excitement minus landing on planets and ultimately, and unknowingly, having a timed game.
