I just can't see the benefit in buying digital games. Once your done, what are you going to do with it? Two used hard copy games are waaay more beneficial than two used digital games.

Buy just one digital game and see how convenient it is to not have to get up and find a disc and remove the old game, insert the new game and then have it load up versus just clicking on an icon and going into the game immediately and you will see the benefit.

Yes if you buy a game and beat it, turn around and sell it or trade it in quickly then going digital is probably not for you. Because if so you can probably get $40 for a game that's not very old.

But for me, I only buy games I play for a long time, games like The Division, Rainbow Six Siege, Diablo, etc and by the time I'm done with them their trade in value is equivalent to about a Big Mac so I'd rather keep them.

It really depends upon how you game but for me digital is how I try to buy whenever possible.

I'm over digital until they lower the price. Asinine that you are forced to pay "more" for digital than physical if you have BBGCU or now pre-order from Amazon. I work on Tuesdays so I can wait for Amazon or drive the 4 minutes to Best Buy just on principle.

I did digital for Fallout 4 because I know I'll enjoy playing that for a long time.

Otherwise I mostly agree. I love the convenience of digital, but it's not worth it for games I'd normally sell back when done.

So all the announced expansions are supposed to come out over the first 12 months after release, right? Or did I misinterpret that?

Do like me me and buy digital cards on sale. Then use those for digital purchases. I just bought the Best Buy deal where I got $100 in Xbox Live money for $76. I used that $100 to get The Division Gold digital for $76.

Most people don't trade in games. With a few clicks or button presses I can play any number of 550 games in my steam library or 90 or so games on my Xbox One, and now with games like Quantum Break I could potentially stop playing on my One and then pick up where I left off on my PC.

As someone who doesn't typically trade in games, all of that is valuable to me, even at the occasional markup (I don't buy a lot of games day 1). Even more so w/ 2 toddlers running around.

Games I'm hesitant about I'll redbox (The Order), refund on Steam (Ashes of the Singularity) or wait (lots of stuff). We also don't buy movies physically anymore, if it can't wait for Netflix, HBOGo, etc then we buy it on Amazon Prime digitally and can watch it anywhere, share it with our kids' Kindles, etc.

It's not for everyone, and few of these tangents convince anyone otherwise, that's for sure.

same here.
I think I'm a video game hoarder, don't like trading or selling games, unless I no longer have the system anymore.

I've been digital on PC for years, some games I had a disc for, I bought Digital again just so I wouldn't have to mess with the discs anymore.
Went Digital on Xbox One, got a 4TB pocket-size drive to start out, small enough to easily carry around if I want to go over to someone else's house and bring my games.
