I just started playing Game of Thrones and I am pretty enthralled with it. I looked at the reviews and it got shredded. I am also a huge fan of the show so that could be a reason I enjoy it and am able to look over some of the rough spots.

What are some games that you guys have played and enjoyed in spite of negative reviews across the board? (I may want to pick some up

)

Final Fantasy XIII....okay, maybe it didn't get 'across-the-board' bad reviews, but it seems like everyone on the Interwebs hated the game, and I loved it. I mean, I actually really thoroughly enjoyed it. It's linear. If you know that going in, it shouldn't be a deal-breaker.

Also NCAA Football 2k2 on Dreamcast...I realize that probably doesn't help you in the present, but I just have to put that out there. I loved that game and played it so much, it's probably still in my DC now in some closet somewhere I haven't looked in years...

I'm sure there are many, but just to name a few...

God Hand. IGN (I know, I know... IGNorant

) gave it a 3/10 and the game is great.

I don't put any stock in 'professional' game reviews (I'll listen more to ppl that I know which have similar tastes in games to me)

Because as we know gaming journalism isn't exactly 'on the straight and narrow'

He was just hungry and thirsty. I don't see any blatant commercialism at all. /sarcasm
