Crysis 3

Apparently Crysis 3 box art and an ad banner were leaked on EA's Origin today. If this is true, I really hope this doesn't turn out to be another Crysis 2 with horrible patch support and a boring, linear gameplay.

Crysis 3 game announcement most likely coming on April 16th. Crytek Founder Cevat Yerli said this on his Twitter:

Re: Crysis 3

I didnt find Crysis 2 boring, but I can see why you felt that way. It wasn't nothing special either.

It was a decent game.

I will give crysis 3 a shot. I will try out the demo and see how it feels.

Re: Crysis 3

I didn't find Crysis 2 boring either, I thought it was a good game. However after playing Crysis after it came out for consoles I can see why people were upset with some of the changes in Crysis 2 and I prefer Crysis 1. I did think there were some things that Crysis 2 did better, but thought Crysis 1 was the better game and has more re-playability. The last 1/3 or so of Crysis 1 was sub-par and was extremely linear, though. That downgraded the game slightly for me, because the rest of the game was fantastic.

I would like to see them move back towards more of the freedom offered in the first Crysis 1 (at least the level of freedom offered in the first 2/3rds of the game), with Crysis 3. I would actually prefer to see Crysis 3 as a launch title for the next consoles. I think the current consoles are probably too limited to improve significantly upon Crysis 2.

Within the Liberty Dome, seven distinct and treacherous environments become known as the Seven Wonders. This dangerous new world demands advanced weapons and tactics. Prophet will utilize a lethal composite bow, an enhanced Nanosuit and devastating alien tech to become the deadliest hunter on the planet.

Re: Crysis 3

Crysis was a fantastic game, but the second game didn't quite pull me in. I do want to go back and try it again, maybe my mind will change on Crysis 2. Crysis 3 looks to blend the first 2 games together which could be neat.

Re: Crysis 3

Hopefully Crysis 3 goes back to the open world format that the original Crysis had. I hated the linear gameplay of Crysis 2.

Trailer in 7 days.

Re: Crysis 3

Sounds interesting. That bow is pretty sweet, stealth with the bow should be fun. Seems like there going for a blend between the first and second game, which is fine by me since I enjoyed both of them. I do hope it is closer to Crysis 1 though, in terms of freedom offered.

Re: Crysis 3

I couldn't force my way through even half of Crysis 2... something about it just didn't do it for me.

Not gonna lie though... that's a badass cover and makes me want to play this
