Sniper Elite 2 (xbox 360, ps3, PC)

It's been a long time coming since 2004/05
http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/505-c...-elite-2/04164

it's actually old news but in the latest games convention there was a trailer (all pre-rendered) and it showed a new x-ray-like dynamic instead of the huge slab of flesh from the first game.

Because it's the same developer, I'm pretty excited. That game was super hard, super long and super awesome. I never did MP since I was on xbox - but I know the ps2 had some MP following. The single player was great though imo. I've been whining for a sequel for years!

This is great news. I didn't get to play much of the first one, but from what I did play it was awesome.

I have seen the original game at some used game stores going for upwards of $30-40.

I hope it remains like the 1st one and don't turn into what the Operation Flashpoint series turned into.

Of course it's not a "perfect" or even "great" game en masse IMO.
But I feel that no other game has captured the feel of the sniper genre.
If you take it for what it is....this game could be a very interesting game for you.
Hopefully they give the game an even bigger nod to Enemy at the Gates.
What I would really love(not from this game obviously) is a Vietnam era sniper game of this caliber.

Re: Sniper Elite 2 (xbox 360, ps3, PC)

I just re-installed the original Sniper Elite and went to Sniper Elite difficulty with all the options at their most difficult level and I am beginning to remember just how unforgiving this game can be.
Also, I hope they fix one of the things I disliked about this game....I hope they give us more buildings to be able to duck into en route to our objectives and more good, high sniping positions.
I always felt I was forced to be in the streets too much as a sniper in this game.

Re: Sniper Elite 2 (xbox 360, ps3, PC)

it was unforgiving, but so satisfying, and the atmosphere was great. Very difficult, but beating it was a real sense of accomplishment and strategy for me. Waiting for explosive rounds in the background to fire a shot to conceal your location, putting trip wire on your 6 o'clock position to scout ahead and so on, moving slowly but deliberately around the maps. It was a totally engrossing game.
