Well I guess if they made it too easy then some people would complain as well. But for me really harsh difficulty spikes just annoy the hell out of me.

On a positive note Mark Hamill absolutely owns this game. His joker is the perfect mix of menace, mayhem and humor and works brilliantly in this particular Batman universe.

Add to that the incredible look they have to him and the ambience surrounding him and just equates to an incredible experience.

Absolutely. There are so many brilliant little touches that give an insight into the love and care that was lavished on this game. eg. The way the joker mocks the chime on the PA system or the conversations between henchmen that show how truly perverse the joker is.

I'm not sure who wrote the dialogue, but Paul Dini wrote the story (Batman: TAS) and he definitely knows how to write good Batman stuff.

Man I played through the game the first time on hard. Lol i didn't want any silly prompt to let me know when to counter the goons. Batman doesn't need no silly prompt. Pretty easy if you watch the goons close. The only time i had trouble was getting the "late to the party" achievement near the end of the game.

That was the hardest part of the game for me as well. You need to pull out some silly combos to even have a chance.

I started with hard as well.

I've noticed that the evade move (double tap X on PS3) really keeps your combos going. I played the first challenge (Just practicing the combat system) and got a 36 hit combo and ko'ed all the dudes in the last round in one combo. I got 17,000 points. I was trying to beat your 23,000 but it got too late. I tried probably 20 times! lol

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum

I finished it on hard last night and it's still a great game despite the boss battles...14 attempts to beat Ivy.

Now that I've become even better at the combat it's even more fun. My biggest combo is still only 38 though, so close to the 40 needed for the achievement. I think I might dive back in and try and get 100%. Hopefully I can solve all of the riddles without resorting to a FAQ.

Also I read an interview with Mark Hamill this afternoon, Arkham 2 will be his last ever appearance as the joker. Say it isn't so...

At least John DiMaggio (Bender, Marcus Fenix) seems to have taken over on the animated side of things.
