I rented it a week ago..I just couldn't get into it personally...it felt way too linear. Can't wait for B:AA 2 though..I think it will be amazing. A lot less linear since it doesn't seem to be in the corridors of Arkham Asylum

If this game wasn't linear i wouldnt still be playing it. I hate having to waste time searching for ****. And this game does a great job of telling you where to go and what your objective is, while still giving you the freedom of exploration.

Non-linear games are overrated in my opinion.

Linear games that kick major ***: Batman: AA, Bayonetta, Dragon Age: Origins, All the good FPS(Halo,COD). etc.

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum

I thought Arkham Asylum striked a nice balance between linear and openworld. It had an "openness" feel to it with the grounds around Arkham acting like a pseudo-overworld. It never felt like I was constantly being funneled down a tube, and I hope the sequel is the same.

I completely agree. If it wasn't for ACII, Batman: AA would have been my game of the year. I hope they keep the combat system alone - I thought it was great. It was simple yet could be really complex and it was very intuitive.

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum

I prefer open world games as a rule. However I loved this game so much that it didn't bother me at all that it was linear.
