Some people just don't like forced companions maybe. Nevermind whether its done right or wrong. I was looking forward to Fable 2 and the new PoP alot more before learning about the companions.

I remember renting a game on the Xbox. I think it was called Dead To Rights. Seems like I remember a dog being in it.

The virtual dog companion is in this fall, Fable 2 and Fallout 3.

Thats true, I bought that game. I remember it because I beat in 3 days (about 8-9 hours) and it only took that long becuase of the bs buttonmashing you had to do in the prison. Never tried the sequel because in the previews I read they'd made it easier because people thought the first game was hard.... what?

I think this falls in the 'don't knock it 'till you try it' category. You can probably ignore it most of the time too. I know you didn't say this, but I don't think someone could justify saying that they won't like the game now because of the dog (simply because they haven't played it)

I have a dog (bulldog), and the only thing I don't want is the dog to be of a type that I don't like (like a waterdog, or huskie). I think I remember PM of lionhead saying the dog's appearance will changed based on your character, or maybe the way you treat the dog? , not sure, but I'm failry certain your dog will look different than mine.

Yep, I rented it and beat it within the rental period.

How does having a dog take away from anything? If you don't want to interact with it then you don't have to.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)
