That seems like a really silly justification since Uncharter/Tomb Raider are basically "Indiana Jones" in video game format to begin with.

Re: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Personally, I think Machine Games made the correct decision. First and foremost, it would be compared to Uncharted and Tomb Raider so it would never get a fair shot right off the bat. Second, they wanted you to feel like you're playing as Indy which in first person is always going to give you that feeling that you can't get in third person.

Third, Machine Games did the Wolfenstein games which are first person so this is where their expertise is. No reason to diverge from that especially when your studio is built for that. Fourth, there's several ex-members of Starbreeze that did the first person Chronicles of Riddick game for the original Xbox which is said to be a great game.

So I for one am very much looking forward to Indiana Jones and using the whip because when you see people are actually motion capturing that and people are getting dragged around in the mocap studio, you know it's going to feel good to use.

After watching in 4K and really, and watching it a few times, the game looks like it's going to be a blast.

Indiana Jones is known for puzzle and platforming, swinging, etc this definitely should have been 3rd person. I'll try it since it's on Gamepass but my hyped has died down.

It's a shame because it actually looks good

As someone who games in vr, 1st person flat just doesn't rate for me anymore. Feels old. Why restrict gamers for making a choice? Yet, it's on Game Pass so it's worth a try.

Re: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Just put eyes on the trailer for the first time, I think it was yesterday or the day before, and it looks pretty solid. However, I'm in the same boat as a few others here in that I would need a 3rd person view available. With that said, if the devs give us a full next generation (current generation) 1st person view, I'd be fine with that.

What I mean specifically when I say full current generation, is that the interaction with the environment is more organic and dynamic. I'm done with the static view with the two stiff hands in the screen lol. I want to see the hand/hands pressing up against walls, grabbing items, etc in a more realistic way. If I can't get that, I absolutely must have the 3rd person view with great animations and real world physics.

That's kind of what turned me off from Cyberpunk. I still play it every now and then but it's so "generic 1st person" view that I only play for a few minutes at a time then I turn it off. These views have been the same FOREVER and it's time for the devs to step to the next level with 1st person. I'm POSITIVE it can be done.

Re: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Its being made by Machine Games and they have only made a first person shooters it's their bread and butter so i wasn't expecting a 3rd person game. Just finished watching the trailer and it looks good and i might buy the collectors edition if its a good a cool item.

Re: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

I'm going to try it in first person because I really want to play this game. If I can't, I'm definitely going to watch this in movie. It has all the looks of a classic Indie story.
