Hester's holding out. But for once I think the public are on the player's side. I am too. Pay this man quick!

The problem with Hester is how do you pay him? Should it be based solely on him being a returner, or do you pay him as a receiver cause that's where he's being tried at?

yea thats the tough part. I usually back the players, i can't be mad at a guy trying to get his money.

Its a tough spot for hester and the team. Right now he should be paid as the top return man, and maybe a little bonus for a WR and some WR incentives. I dont see how the bears could be considering giving him #1 WR type money at this point.

Well, if you can make Robbie Gould the highest paid kicker in the game, and give him 15 mil over 5 years....then you can pay Hester. Plain and simple to me.

Actually after giving Gould, Urlacher and others money the Bears don't have much TOO pay Hester like that. With that said, he deserves to be in a category that hasn't been created yet which means it probably won't happen in the next two weeks. This could get ugly but I doubt Hester can afford for it to. Plus the Bears know that no other team will pay him what he's asking either.

Re: 2008 Chicago Bears Den

Hester reported this morning. If he & his agent really want #1 WR money, that is laughable. I love the guy, but he is a #1 KR/PR not a #1 WR. They said he had 4 plays last year. FOUR. He still had no clue what he was doing the majority of the time he was lined up at that position. He'll get his and soon, but he and his people need to be reasonable.

I knew it would be quick, but not this quick! Great to have him back. I hope he does get a bump though.
