Yeah! What I was trying to tell him too. Beating a team 3 times in the same season in the NFL is a "hard" feat. Especially when it's a team in your division.

Re: Dallas Cowboys War Room

So our reasonably successful season is now over, albeit a bit sooner than I would have liked.

Where to from here? What's our free agent and salary cap situation? Who should we draft?

Dallas definitely needs to go either OT, NT (where Ratliff could move back to End) or SS.

Dallas should have about 10 million to spend this summer.

Re: Dallas Cowboys War Room

Only real concern in my eyes is Austin. Gotta get him back, though I understand he's an RFA.

Also, a question I completely neglected to ask: Wade Phillips - stay or go? I vote stay at this point; I think that we have a good team that we can build upon for a true Super Bowl push soon, whether next year, the year after, or a a little ways' further down the road. So long as Wade's defense continues to succeed and the team doesn't quit on him I see no reason why he can't stay.

I vote for Philips to go out the door. However, with the possible lockout looming after 2011 then Jerry Jones might just keep him.

I agree we need to keep Miles Austin but the rest aren't biggies except maybe trying to sign back Sensabaugh. He played pretty well this season for us even though he got beat on that first TD by Rice today. I don't think it was designed for him to cover Rice anyhow. It looked like Newman was lost from the start of the play.

Back to Wade Philips. He did win a playoff game for us this year but I feel he'll never take us to that next level though. I felt like this about Romo too until he showed me this season he might be capable of doing it.

Jason Garrett is still not capable of taking us to that next level either with his offensive scheme. It works sometimes but he doesn't like to try anything new. Philips has a great scheme on defense even though today our defense looked pretty bad.

We had played 4 great games on defense coming into today & we just had a bad game. However, Minnesota is the better team with a legendary QB. They whipped us in all phases of the game today. It was painful to watch.

One other thing. We need to get another kicker again. Folk sucked. Shuisam sucked. We might be looking at another drafted kicker like we went with Folk a few years ago. I don't see a dependable FA kicker getting it done. This is a position on the game we need to fill badly.

Forgot about Sensabaugh. I'd bring him back if we can do it without breaking bank.

Also, about the staff, I'm not convinced that we were ever really outcoached in any game in the back half of our season. Garrett's offense looked anemic today because of the poor play of our offensive line, and the defense gave up points partially due to the offense putting them in poor situations and often. I feel like that 1) we need to start preparing for the departures of aging players on the line (Adams), 2) we need to just get better on the line in general (I personally feel like Romo makes them look a bit better than they actually are due to his ability to extend the play with his feet), and 3) we need to get a legitimate threat opposite of Miles Austin (*cough* somehow get rid of Roy Williams for someone who is actually decent *cough*).
