Oh My God.

My LE, Jamaal Anderson for the Falcons, just totaled 17 sacks, 18 TFL, 20 tackles, and 1 FF against the 49ers.

That's rediculous what defense were u using and who were they using to block him. My most sacks in a game is 5 with Brian Urlacher

I'm using 4-3 pressure, just sent Boley inside on a blitz and the tackle went and blocked Boley instead of Anderson, and Anderson raped Leftwich. If the tackle blocked Anderson, he would either pancake the blocker or get around him. They used two tackles on that side. Daqaun Ambrose (rookie) and Langston Walker.

Also: I had 23 team sacks.

Re: Oh My God.

Wow usually I run 4-2 and both backers blitz A gap leaving one of the unblocked 90% of the time but I don't have crazy stats like that most of my DEs don't get 17 sacks in a season

Yeah, I was suprised. And this was the 1st game of the season. If he play's every game like this, he's going to get 272 sacks. Thats insane. Even 3 sacks a game after this, he's going to get 62 sacks.

Re: Oh My God.

Blitzes from the defense's left - offense's right - usually work better. It's a "feature" in the AI's blocking that the center always blocks the RDT against a standard 4-3 front on passing downs, leaving the LG free to help the LT. Most plays with pass-blocking backs also block left, leaving the right side wide open for blitzing, either man or zone.

When I play offense, I always balance up with a hot read to my back, making sure I have one man free on each side facing a 4-3 front. It saves me from a lot of sacks.

Especially since Bruce Smith the NFLs alltime Sack Leader has only 200 for his career.

Re: Oh My God.

I think this is a testing bias.

Basically they took pieces of the in game AI from madden (like how to block) so the AI does far better on the side of the defense that typically has user control and clear visibility (Right End, ROLB, Left Tackle etc.) than on the side where the user is hindered by not being able to see the whole approach.

Computer controlled blitzes are all about weak-side action.
