Sleeper Tips

Just wondering, what everyone uses to help find a good sleeper to draft? Besides the obvious Draft Preview and Player Comparisons of course. For me, I normally look at the player's learning. Most of these players with mid to high learning have mid to high potential.

totally agree. learning is the biggest thing i look at, and its an attribute that is pretty easy to unlock. also, if i find a player who has "upside" listed as one of his (+) attributes, its a lock that im going to try to draft him.

Re: Sleeper Tips

Do not focus too much on learning. Learning is actually a bit of an overrated trait in this game. Through good coaching...a player's learning level can develop far past what the potential states.

I say you look for the guys who fit your style the best. For me...I pick out players that have great intangibles, have size, and have decent athleticism...I generally stick with speedier guys overall. Speed really kills in this game. For instance, if you have a fast offensive lineman...using him on pulling blocking assignments can really help you burst to the outside when running the ball. Also, makes a huge difference on defense if you are an attack blitzer like me. I have my DE's and all of my LB's with speeds of 88 or higher with solid finesse and power moves...which means great pash rushers.

To be honest...there is no absolute way of drafting sleepers....you just have to know who will fit your philosophy the best. Also remember...it helps having a gm with great rookie and potential scouting skills.

Cheers!

Re: Sleeper Tips

There is a way that u can scout, and find sleepers. Its a little time consuming, but it works. Ive read about it, and tried it.

Some might consider it cheating, but anyway here it goes.

When your in the offseason, go through it normally. As soon as you see the 1st individual workout come up, u save it.

And start working out the players you want, between 6-10 i believe.

When u scout the players that u can, write down key things about the player that u think is important.- speed, potential, learning, duribility, NFL comparison, and anything else u see important. Like size, strength....u get my drift.

After you have the 6-10 players u worked out, quit your career....RELOAD.....and pick another 6-10 players to scout.

And the procees keeps going, until you feel u scouted enough plays.

You can dominate every draft, and find all of the hidden gems, but also insure that you 1st rd pick is worth it. Ive tried it, it works....

Re: Sleeper Tips

i looked at speed for RB WR TE and strength for OL and DL. All 5 of my undrafted rookies made the team with over 85 POT.

I wouldn't consider it cheating, it's not like real life GMs and scouts are onlyy allowed to scout 8 playeyrs for the draft

Re: Sleeper Tips

Some might say, that it isnt real....but alot of whats in the game is kind of wack anyway. But its a good way to see what your needs are, and then get who u want.

Re: Sleeper Tips

I tend to draft based on my specific philosophy. What I like to use is a mobile QB, speed WRs, and I switch between power and speed at HB.

For the QB, I'll scroll down the list and find the fastest QBs in the draft. Simply drafting a speed QB with this philosophy will net you a good potential player. Then I look for their THP and THA, along with their size.

WRs are easy to draft. Find a fast one and you are gold.

HBs seem to be harder to draft. With them, I find the fastest or most powerful ones, and then look for all of the following: size, speed, strength, comparison, and injury. With HBs, injuries will play a bigger role than at most other positions.
