Please tell me its impossible

I've started with the lions 3 times today and got fired after busting my *** for 15 hours playing. Please tell me even with a strategy guide I have no hope in not getting fired. Seriously I just feel so drained loss after loss.

Am I suppose to sign like 10 great free agents? Is that the only way?

unfortunately i cant tell you its impossible. there are people here who have somehow had success with the lions in year 1. personally though i think its good that its so hard to do well with them. look at what they actually did this season. it shows that the game did a good job representing the talent the lions actually have...and like you said, theres only so much you can do in free agency and the draft. if it were easy to turn a team around in 1 season it would happen more. the falcons and phins did it this year, and coicidentally (maybe not) a lot more people have had success on HC turning those teams around.

if you want the game to be easier ONLY purchase special skills and not regular skills for your coaches. this makes the game too unrealistic imo so i avoid special skills. also look at the draft preview to get help in the draft, but again i avoid this since this makes the draft too easy for me

I used the Raiders made the playoffs and then won the superbowl the next year, but the key was trading for Cutler for next years number one pick. He took my team over, and I drafted Mcfadden. Just started a new one with the Browns today for fun. Figured with their cap situation and no picks till the 3rd round should be harder. I'll have to try the Lions for fun sometime.

It is very possible to not only, not get fired, but succeed with a terrible team like the lions. Why do you keep getting fired? Do you have a lot of Cap penalties? I think you are the guy that had 54 million in cap penalties in another post. If so then it sounds like that could be your problem. You can't go in and just start gutting the team and trading/cutting players. You have to pay attention to the penalties and sometimes bite the bullet and live with the terribly overpaid players.

Also are you simming your season games or playing them out? You will have much better success if you play them out and call the plays yourself versus simming them.

Hey, I played with the Lions for the first time yesterday and finished with a record of 2-14 and a approval rating of 6 and I wasn't fired.
