Week 1- vs Old Dominion. I thought this would be one of those welcome to the FBS spanking...I lost by 7 I had a chance to tie it on the final minute but threw an INT on a long 3rd down. Their defense dominated me, it was all field goals for me until finally the 3rd I got a TD.

I like this challenge since I consider myself a very good player and usually go undefeated with teams.
^that was my first week, Second week vs Utah State. First Mountain West conference game of the season. Got my first coaching career win! 31-24.
The offense showed up this time unlike what happened against Old Dominion! 400 total yards, 344 of those rushing. (triple option attack was deadly this game)
My QB Kale Pearson had 90 yds rushing
HB Jon Lee 108 yds 1 TD
HB Anthony LaCoste 97 yds 1 TD
FB Broam Hart 30 yds 1 TD
FB D.Gibson 1 yd 1 TD

Next week BIG game at Boise State!!!

My #1 house rule for this dynasty:
No red shirting players since the service academies don't redshirt.

Also I'm not planning to leave the Mountain West until at least I win a conference championship so this is thinking ahead, but if i did what conference would be best for Air Force?
Option A: BIG 12: Location wise would fit right in
Option B: PAC 12: Also location
Option C: American conference: Navy is already joining it in real life so why not add another service academy.
Option D: Stay in the Mountain West.
Let me know what you guys think!

Re: How is your dynasty going

Just started up one today with the Marshall Thundering Herd trying to do something I've always wanted to try, a Spread Option, with a little bit of flair. That flair being a couple wildcat and wishbone formations thrown in there to make what I consider would be my ultimate playbook. Top off my defense with a new rush killing 3-4 zone blitz based defense and I'm basically runing an offense on crack with a Steelers 3-4 defense, at least that's what my aim is.

My first game was against Miami (OH) and I almost screamed up a storm after finishing the first quarter down 17-3. I was ready to already give up, then all of a sudden, I drop 35 unanswered points and win 38-17. My offense was a HUGE success, and my recruiting is going great too. I started at level 6 to at least give myself a shot at getting someone decent, and now I have 3 four stars with interest in Marshall. Granted two are lineman, and one is a ATH, it's still pretty exciting to see how I can make this team a powerhouse. Next game is against a FCS school so I'm hoping to make it a huge blowout.

Re: How is your dynasty going

Wyoming Dynasty Year 8 Week 13, 2020

#1 (10-0) Notre Dame @ #2 (9-1) Wyoming

You know it was a good game when there's 4 rows of pictures instead of 3.

Calling it a good game would actually be an understatement, as the game was one for the ages.

#1 Notre Dame came into town to face the #2 ranked Wyoming Cowboys at Frank Powell Memorial Stadium, where they have been undefeated for the last 7 years, 42 straight games. At first, it looked like it was going to be a blowout. The 1st quarter ended with Wyoming up 17-0. They were delivering big hits, breaking tackles left and right, and playing out of their minds. I grabbed a bag of chips and some soda, got comfortable, and began thinking of a clever headline for the game writeup. But things took a turn for the worst.

Notre Dame, lead by star QB Will Nunez, fought back and kept things close until the 4th quarter came around. Wyoming was up 27-20 and in field goal range with 3 minutes to go. They got stopped, and out came Ray Guy award winning kicker Peter Ferguson. Ferguson had yet to miss a kick during his prestigious career at Wyoming. He lined up for a 41 yarder, easy money for a kicker of his caliber. The snap was good.. the hold was set.. the kick was away.... and it fell short. The crowd was in disbelief. It was like Gary Anderson missing the kick that would have sent the Vikings to the Superbowl. Yeah, it was JUST like that.

Notre Dame, now will all the momentum, went on a 10 play 60 yard scoring drive capped off by a touchdown with just 1 minute to go to tie it at 27. Wyoming got to around midfield but was stopped. And the game went to overtime.

In the first overtime, Notre Dame started with the ball on offense. They methodically drove towards the endzone, and on a 3rd and goal from the 5 QB Will Nunez tried to scramble his way in. He was tripped up by Wyoming's defensive end but somehow managed to stay off the ground by putting his hand down. He scored to put the Irish up 7.

QB #19 Jamaal Williams lead Wyoming to a touchdown drive of their own, capped off by a Rodney Hopkins touchdown run. Now in the 2nd overtime, Wyoming did the same thing and put the defense in position to win it with a stop. It eventually came down to a 4th and 5 play at Wyoming's 20. The Cowboys sent the blitz and FS Joe Jacobs came in unblocked and hammered Nunez. But he was too late. Just before the hit, Nunez fired a laser across the middle to a wide receiver who caught it and scored to tie the game.

Now in the 3rd overtime, Notre Dame drove down and scored easily in just a few plays. On the 2 point conversion attempt, Nunez was sacked! Wyoming now had the ball, they needed a touchdown to tie it and a 2 point conversion to win it. After a 16 yard loss on a sack, Williams completed a pass to WR #10 Leon Robbins who gained 20 yards to make it 3rd and 6. On 3rd and 6, Williams found no one open and tried to scramble up the middle but was tackled for a gain of 1. It was now 4th and 5. The game was on the line, the streak was on the line.

Williams dropped back.. he couldn't find anyone open! The pressure was coming from the edge. Williams threw up a pass to the back of the endzone to WR #12 Jeff Lawson. He leaped into the air but NO! Notre Dame's safety leaped and tipped it away. The game was over. The streak was over. Wyoming's streak of national championships, home wins, and general NCAA Football dominance had finally come to an end. 47-41 was the final score.

Both teams combined for nearly 1000 yards of total offense. Nunez finished with 350 yards passing, 36/46 with 3 TDs and 1 INT. He completed passes to 10 different receivers, and also ran for a touchdown. Wyoming's defense, known mostly for the amount of sacks they get, got to Nunez just 1 time. Notre Dame HB Peter Robinson finished with 2 rushing TDs, including what was the game winner. SS #39 Joey Williams lead the Notre Dame defense with 7 tackles and the pass deflection on the games final play. OLB Jay Vinson and LE Derrick Taylor both had 2 sacks.

Wyoming QB Jamaal Williams threw for 384 yards, 20/26 with 2 TDs and 1 INT. He was sacked 6 times. HB #25 Rodney Hopkins ran for 105 yards and 2 TDs while backup HB Jeff Blanco ran for 30 and 1 TD. Tight End David Powers, who is known to be an elite blocker and below average receiver, managed his best game of his career with 7 catches for 133 yards. WR #10 Leon Robbins caught 4 passes for 80 yards and 1 TD. MLB #52 Tim Gibson lead the defense with 13 tackles. CB #33 Ike Pettit had the teams only turnover with an interception. DT #94 Leon Patterson had the teams only sack.

The loss drops Wyoming to (9-2) on the year, with 1 game to go vs rival Boise State, who is having a rough season and is (3-8). The Cowboys are now ranked #7, and it doesn't look like they will get to the national championship game this season without some serious help from other teams. Wyoming's streak of 3 national championships looks like its also going to come to an end. Frank Powell Memorial Stadium, previously ranked #1 Toughest Stadium, is now ranked #7 after the 42 game home win streak was snapped by the Fighting Irish, who remain ranked #1.

QB Will Nunez remains #1 in the Heisman Race standings, and barring a poor performance vs rival (5-6) USC in the final game of their season, he will take home the award for sure.

I have never felt more dejected and sick after a loss. When the final pass was deflected and incomplete, my heart sank. I just sat there staring at the screen in disbelief. Watching Notre Dame celebrate was torture. I can only imagine all the disappointed season ticket holders who had been to every game during the streak now having to leave the stadium in defeat for the first time in 7 years. The streak had become a real source of fun too.. seeing just how high I could get it. I really wanted to reach 50 wins. But after losing and doing this writeup, I'm not as bummed as I was before. Now I've got something to play for next season. Not just more records and trophies, I have revenge on my mind. I've got something to prove. The Cowboys will be back in 2021 and the rest of the league better watch out.

Re: How is your dynasty going

Miami Hurricanes record for the longest home win streak in NCAA history still stands!

My god when you think of it and put it into perspective in a video game like you did. You realize how freaking hard and incredible a streak like that is in real life.

Haha sorry for adding salt to the wound.

Miami has it at 58 games (1985-1994)

btw Bleed Green since you moved Wyoming to the BIG 12 can you read my dynasty post on the previous page and post your opinion about the conference change question please.

Re: How is your dynasty going

I think Air Force would fit into the BIG12 pretty good. I usually wait until I win a BCS bowl game or 2 before I change conferences, to prove I am good enough to battle with the best teams.

Yeah I agree definitely not moving anytime soon but it's something I would explore in the future if I start consistently being at the top of the Mountain West and the other teams in the conference start declining.
