Michigan Wolverines: How to handle the new D?

So Michigan fans, how do you plan on replicating the bizarro defense UM is planning this year, where it's a 3-4, but one the 4 "LBs" is a safety, i.e. Stevie Brown this year?

I haven't thought of a good solution, especially because the 3-4 that the game uses takes the #2 MLB and makes him the 4th LB. Of course if you could do formation subs this would be much easier, but that is STILL not a part of this game.

Plus you are going to end up with way too many LBs. There are like 9 in the game already. If you move Brandon Smith and Stevie Brown (like IRL) then you end up with 11.

Any ideas?

The best solution I could say is to maybe just run the majority of your plays in the 3-3-5 and manually control the safety/roving linebacker, if you really want to get technical with it.

Yea, I thought about the 3-3-5. It really seems to me that is what they are going with, a modified 3-3-5. But I think if you do 3-3-5 in the game, the 5th DB is the 3rd corner. So you would still have to tinker with depth charts.

The 3-3-5 in game works like this.

Code:
                   FS

         SS OLB MLB OLB SS
CB DE DT DE CB
I can't remember which side is the starting SS though.

Oh sweet. Well I plead ignorance on that one. Thanks for enlightening me. So, yea I guess doing a 3-3-5 would possible work. I might play around with it and see later.

what I've been doing is I moved stevie brown to LOLB and kept Brandon Smith at SS because it seems like he's staying there for now and I run the 4-3 under because that is what I hear greg robinson runs mostly

I would run the 3-3-5 and move S. Brown to SS so he becomes the second SS on the field acting as a linebacker. B Smith actually got moved to ILB this year. The starters at safety, at least in the beginning are going to be Woolfolk at FS and Williams at SS.

Smith isn't a safety anymore. He's moved to linebacker. As of now, Williams and Woolfolk are the penciled in starters at the two true safety spots.
