The generic individualism is what killed the game for me last year and if they didn't really improve that then I don't see the point in getting this game - it will be inferior to Live no matter the other game play improvements they made. Playing my one year in dynasty mode with UConn this became so apparent. Georgetown, Pitt and Cuse were the same. Villanova, Notre Dame and Louisville were the same. If I team was wearing plain white uniforms I would have no clue who I was playing (outside of maybe Cuse with their 2-3 zone). All that mattered in NCAA 09 was tempo, it didn't matter if you had a 90 overall PF or a 75 ovr, it played the same on offense.

Plus pre-patch out of the box there is no way the game will be better than Live so what's the point of having the game sit on my shelf for six weeks waiting for a patch after spending $60 on it?

I buy two bball games each year and to me it makes way more sense to pick up 2K10 (still gotta test PS3 post-patch) because it compliments Live so well. Maybe I'll pick this up in Feb/March on eBay for cheap or maybe I'll get it for Christmas, we'll see.
There is no reason to buy any sports game pre patch anymore with the exception of MLB THE SHOW.
We buy the game, play it, complain here then wait for the patch so what's the point?
I'll save my 60 bucks.

Very true but I never let that stop me before. I'm doing it in this case because I'm skeptical of the final result, post-patch I'm not sure that NCAA 10 will be better than Live 10. I'm not going to buy this game if that's the case.

That is correct. With so much else out and the #1 reason is how these games are starting to come out of the box. NOT FINSHED. This patching after the game is released is BS. Sports games won't fool me any longer. I'll just wait it out. Peace Fellows

Patches just allow the developer teams to be just flat out lazy. They release unfinished games, listen to our complaints then "fix what they can." If its an un-patchable problem, oh well. They have our money and we'll just have to wait for next year. It seems like we do all their testing, for free! Actually, we pay them to do the testing.

It seems to be a trend to rush games out the door. Look at NCAA Football 10 for example. It appears they rushed it out the door and didn't pay attention to the progression and had to release a third patch.

Measure twice. Cut once. Please.

This year might be different though ehh based off those offensive gameplay vids where they showed Gtwon running the Princeton offense. I fully understand them not being able to capture differences in players to a certain extent but if they can emulate team styles than hope isnt all lost. It seems like NCAA hoops is ahead of fball in this regard.

Last year they ran offenses very well too (not as team specific) but they didn't make any effort to get it to their scorers more and the high rated players didn't seem to do anything that different from lower rated guys.

If I play NCAA '10 and can't tell the difference between Greg Monroe and GTown's backup big man then I will probably be passing on this game.

Yeah devs are taking advantage of patches way too much. I'm fine if they release a patch to fix some bugs here and there. Thats all good. But when its like NCAA Football, where there were glaring issues(progression, e.g.) and they came out with 3 patches, that is just ridiculous.

Hmmm...that's not good news for someone who didn't play '09.
